    Huaihua, also known as "Hecheng(鹤城)", anciently known as "Hezhou(鹤州)" and "Wuxi(五溪)", is a prefecture-level city in Hunan Province, a national comprehensive transportation hub city, a central city and a node city of the Wulingshan Economic Cooperation Zone. Since ancient times, it has been known as “the gateway to Guizhou and Yunnan” and “the throat of Hunan”. It is the “bridgehead” leading to the southwest of China's central and eastern regions.

    Highlights

    • Colorful Ethnic Culture: Among the permanent residents of the city in 2016, the Han nationality was 2,909,659, accounting for 61.36%; the ethnic minority population was 1,832,289, accounting for 38.64%, including Tujia, Miao,, Yao, Dong.
    • Paradise for Visitors and Photographers: There are many attractions in Huaihua, such as the Memorial Hall for the Victory of the Anti-Japanese War in Zhijiang County, Lisu Park in Huitong County, and the Former Residence of Xiang Jingxu in Xupu County. Places of historic interest and scenic spots include a batch of Huaihua Ancient Village, Furong Tower in Qiancheng Ancient Town of Hongjiang City, Huilong Bridge in Tongdao County, and Hongjiang Ancient Commercial Town.
