Bijie, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guizhou province, is located in the northwest of Guizhou province, at the junction of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces, the hinterland of Wumeng mountain, the key and lock of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou, the roof of Guizhou plateau, and the barrier of Yangtze river and pearl river. Bijie is adjacent to Guiyang and Zunyi in the east, Anshun and Liupanshui in the south, Zhaotong and Qujing in Yunnan province in the west, and Luzhou city in Sichuan province in the north. The total area of the city is nearly 26,900 square kilometers. Bijie is 217 kilometers from the provincial capital Guiyang, and 210 kilometers, 240 kilometers, 370 kilometers, 200 kilometers and 172 kilometers respectively from Luzhou, Zhaotong, Qujing, Anshun and Zunyi. It is the birthplace of the Wujiang river, Beipan river and Chishui river, is a place with multi-ethnic inhabitation, splendid history and culture, rich resources, magical beauty and shining red culture.

Famous Attractions: Bijie has magical and beautiful landscapes, including Zhijin Cave, Caohai Lake, Baili Azalea Scenic Spot and Jiucaiping, etc.
Minority Culture: Bijie is home to a large number of ethnic minorities, among 56 ethnic groups in China, 45 ethnic groups distributed in Bijie. Ethnic minority cultures in Bijie are rich and splendid, including Miao culture, Yi culture, Hui culture, as well as Bai, Buyi and Gelao cultures.
Ethnic Festivals: There are colorful ethnic festivals in Bijie, such as the torch festival of the Yi minority, Yi's New Year, the Tiaohua festival of the Miao minority, and double sixth festival(the sixth day of the sixth lunar month) of the Bouyei minority.
Diverse Biological Resources: The diverse biological resources have won Bijie the reputation of "the town of bamboo fungus in China", "the hometown of gastrodia elata", "the town of walnut in China", "the town of potato in south China" and "the natural medicine garden", etc.
