
After breakfast in the hotel, we will drive to Yi county. And visit Xidi and Hongcun Villages, where we can explore the traditional Chinese architecture. Both villages are UNESCO World Heritage Sites (2000) and the filming spot of the famous Oscar-award film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. These two villages are the most representative local-style(buffalo-shape) residences in southern Anhui Province.
At end, the guide will transfer you to the Hotel in downtown Huangshan city.
Morning Departure to Yi County:
Breakfast at the hotel.
Travel to Yi County: After breakfast, drive to Yi County (about 1 hour by car), where Xidi and Hongcun villages are located.
Exploring Xidi and Hongcun Villages:
Xidi Village: Explore Xidi, a village that exemplifies Huizhou architecture, with its narrow winding streets and traditional white-washed buildings. The village is home to many historic homes, many of which feature elaborate wooden carvings.
Hongcun Village: After Xidi, head to Hongcun, another village known for its buffalo-shaped layout, a tranquil pond reflecting the traditional buildings around it, and its scenic backdrop of mountains. This village is famous for its role in the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
Lunch and Traditional Culture:
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant serving Anhui cuisine.
After lunch, continue exploring the villages, visiting several traditional Huizhou-style houses, and learning about the local culture and history.
Return to Huangshan City:
After a full day of exploration, return to Huangshan City.
Accommodation: Stay overnight at your selected hotel in downtown Huangshan.
Meals: Enjoy dinner in the city, perhaps at a restaurant specializing in Anhui cuisine.
