Guizhou is one of China’s most ethnically diverse provinces. It is the home to over 13 national ethnic minorities and all with their own long-established and brilliant cultures. This tour will take you to explore the exotic life and culture of Miao and Dong Minorities.

  • Day 1: Guiyang – Kaili

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Guiyang – Kaili

Sightseeing and Activities: Shiqiao Miao Village
Accommodation: kaili
Meals: Dinner

Upon your arrival, tour guide will pick you up from Guiyang airport or train station and then transfer to Kaili. It will take about 2.5 hours. Start visit Shiqiao Miao Village if time permits. The Miao people there still lives a self-sufficient living style. The village is renowned for traditional paper-making. It is a nice place to experience and learn the traditional paper-making.

Day 2 Kaili – Rongjiang

Sightseeing and Activities: Jidao Miao Village, Upper Langde Miao Village, Datang Miao Village
Accommodation: Rongjiang
Meals:Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, head to Jidao Miao Village, Upper Langde Miao Village, and Datang Miao Village to explore the culture of Miao people.

After the visit, drive to Rongjiang County for overnight.

Day 3 Rongjiang – Congjiang

Sightseeing and Activities: Sanbao Dong Village, Zengchong Dong Village
Accommodation: Congjiang
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

In the morning, head to Congjiang. We will stop at Sanbao Dong Village. Known as most densely populated area of Dong Minority people, it is the best place to explore and experience exotic life and culture of Dong Minority.

After that, drive to visit Zengchong Dong Village. It is a citadel of Dong Minority culture as it has the oldest drum tower in China.

After the tour, transfer to Congjiang County for overnight.

Day 4 Congjiang – Zhaoxing

Sightseeing and Activities: Basha Miao Village, Bapa Dong Village, Huanggang Dong Village, Tang’an Dong Village
Accommodation: Zhaoxing
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, head to Basha Miao Village, which is famed for being China ‘s last tribe of gunmen. Hidden away in a forest, Basha residents still live in their wooden houses, practice centuries-old customs and have their own unique beliefs.

In the afternoon, visit Bapa Dong Village and Huanggang Dong Village to explore the culture of Dong people. After that, head to Tang’an Dong Village. With a long history of over 700 years, it is a unique eco-museum of Dong Minority which was reputed as “one of the Top 6 Ancient Villages in China”, “the biggest living museum of Dong Minority”, “the cradle of ancient music” and “the land of festivals”. Drive to Zhaoxing for overnight.

Day 5 Zhaoxing – Congjiang

Today we will visit Zhaoxing Dong Village, which is one of the biggest Dong minority villages in China, and also the center of the Dong ethnic folk cultures. All the buildings in the village are wooden-stilt houses. In Zhaoxing Dong Village, there are five drum towers, which are known far and wide for their unique styles.

After the visit, drive 1 hour back to Congjiang for your high speed train or bus. Service ends.
