Guizhou Climate

Guizhou Province enjoys a temperate, humid subtropical monsoon climate, neither too cold in winter nor too hot in summer. Throughout the year, the hottest day occurs in the late July, and the coldest day in early January. The average annual rainfall ranges from 100 cm to 130 cm. Annual relative humidity is more than 70%, and frost-free period lasts about 270 days. The climate in Guizhou is moist and the temperature changes slightly. It is pleasant that the weather is usually warm in winter and cool in summer. The annual average temperature in Guizhou is usually between 10℃ and 20℃. However, the climate is unstable. Guizhou has a pleasant climate and is suitable for tourism throughout the year. The best time to travel in Guizhou is spring and autumn, especially from the March to May and September to October. Spring in Guizhou(March to May) is the rainy season. The summer in Guizhou is not too hot and the air is not dry. The hottest month is in July when the temperature changes from 22℃ to 25℃. The autumn in Guizhou is mild and pleasant, but there are still rainy days. Winter is the longest season in four seasons, it's not too cold. Temperature in January(the coldest month) ranges from 3℃ to 6℃. If you are interested in ethnic customs and culture, the best time to travel is in spring, at that time, many local festivals are celebrated.

1. Try to avoid the peak holidays of China, such as May Day Holiday(May 1-3), National Day Holiday(October 1-7) and Spring Festival Holiday(Usually early February). Spring festival is the most crowded time to travel. 

2. The temperature difference in spring(especially in May) is large between daytime and nights. The weather is cold in the morning and evening, but hot at noon. So thin coat and long-sleeve T-shirt are needed. Generally, in Guizhou, you can wear T-shirt in the summer time, and you should put on thick coat and sweater in winter. 

3. Guizhou is strongly affected by monsoon, and the temperature airflow changes frequently.
