Penglai Pavilion is located in Danya Mountain, north of Penglai City, Shandong Province.With an area of 18500 square meters, Penglai Pavilion is a construction complex built in 1061 of the Northern Song Dynasty. Besides, there are Dengzhou Museum and Ancient Ship Museum for visitors to know more history of Penglai.
Main Attractions of Penglai Pavilion Scenic Area
The entire Penglai Pavilion building consists of Sanqingdian, Lvzu Palace, Sugong Temple, Tianhou Temple, Dragon King Palace, Penglai Pavilion, and Amitabha Temple, which all located in a hillside with different styles, so you need to climb hill to visit them. After that, you can take cable car to Tianheng Mountain and overlook the junction of Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea during the way.
Under the pavilion is the Water City built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). It has two gates, the south gate connects the land, serving as the gate for the entry of vehicles and horses; the north gate has a huge strobe that controls the entry of ships. Water City is presently the most complete ancient military water base in China.
To the east of pavilion is a museum with an ancient style garden. It exhibits cultural relics, and is the second museum in China with ancient ships as its subject.
To the west is the Pavilion Xiyuan. This scenic spot is about one kilometer from the Penglai Pavilion, attractions include a fisher-folk village, yurts and a Shuilian Dong.
