Air

Yantai Penglai International Airport

Yantai Penglai International Airport is located in Penglai, Yantai City, Shandong province, and it is 43 miles away from the city proper. The airport was opened in May 2015. It hosts domestic destinations including many other cities like Beijing, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Changsha, Nanjing, Fuzhou, etc. For international destinations, you could take planes to Seoul, Osaka, Nagoya, etc.

Airport Shuttle Buses:

In addition to those shuttle buses starting from hotels, you could take buses in General Bus Station, West Bus Station, South Bus Station and South Railway Station. The prices vary from 20 yuan to 50 yuan. Besides, intercity express buses are available as well. They offer Line 1, Line 3 and Line 4 intercity express buses.

Railway

  • Yantai Railway Station
    It is located in Zhifutun Road, Zhifu District, Yantai City. You could take train and high-speed train to many other cities in China there like Guangzhou, Yiwu, Taiyuan, Nanjing, Kunming, etc.
  • Yantainan Railway Station
    It is located on No.5501, Shanhai South Road, Laishan District, Yantai City. The station is only available for high-speed train. You could buy tickets online or at railway station with a valid ID certificate like a passport.

Interprovincial Buses

The main coach stations in Yantai are City Coach Bus Terminal, Beima Lu Coach Station, Yantaigang Coach Station and Qingnian Lu Coach Station. Among these stations, it is best to use the City Coach Bus Terminal for long-distance travel since there are more routes and it’s the largest station. Now these stations have set up the long-distance network of selling tickets, so you can buy the tickets of the starting stations or round-trips from any station. Ship

Located in Shandong peninsula, ship is a convenient transportation means in Yantai. Yantai Port Passenger Transport General Incorporation set up two passenger stations, which are Yantai Port Passenger Transport Station (No.155 Beima Road) and the Huanhai Lu Passenger Transport Station (No.2 Huanhai Road). Several ship shuttles between Yantai and Dalian each day, passengers could leave there for Dalian by ship in this two stations.

There are three kinds of passenger ships to Dalian: ordinary, ro-ro and high-speed passenger ship. Their flight time to Dalian is respectively 8H, 5.5H to 7.5H and 3H. Besides, the incorporation offers the service to Inchon (in South Korea). Three ships to Inchon in a week are available there (at 17:30 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday).

Getting Around

Subway

There is no subway service in Yantai now. But as planned, there will be 6 metric lines serving the city proper and extending to the outskirts of the city. Among these planned lines, Line 1 and Line 3 are expected to open in 2020.

City-bus

Now you could choose to take a bus in many cities in China. There are more than 50 bus routes in Yantai now. And three types of the buses are big, mini and air-conditioned. The charge varies from 1 yuan to 1.5 yuan. Try the No.17 Sightseeing Bus that goes along the Binhai Road for a full view of wonderful seaside sceneries.

Taxi

Taxi is quite convenient for visitors if they are not so familiar with one place and it helps passengers avoid getting lost or wasting too much time finding the exact way. There are two categories of taxi in Yantai: ordinary cars and standard cars, and their fares for flag-down rate for first three kilometers respectively are 7 yuan and 8 yuan.
