Huizhou (惠州) is a scenic coastal city in southeastern Guangdong Province, located within the Pearl River Delta region and facing the South China Sea. Surrounded by mountains, rivers, lakes, and beaches, Huizhou combines natural beauty, historic culture, and modern coastal attractions. Its convenient location near Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Dongguan makes it one of the most popular weekend getaway destinations in Guangdong.

    • Huizhou West Lake (惠州西湖): The cultural symbol of the city, Huizhou West Lake is famous for its beautiful scenery of lakes, islands, bridges, gardens, and historic sites. It has long been praised alongside Hangzhou’s West Lake and is a perfect place for walking, boating, photography, and exploring local history.
    • Xunliao Bay (巽寮湾) & Coastal Resorts: Huizhou’s coastline is one of its biggest attractions. Xunliao Bay, Shuangyue Bay (双月湾), and Daya Bay (大亚湾) offer beautiful beaches, clear waters, seafood restaurants, seaside resorts, and water activities such as swimming, surfing, sailing, and coastal hiking.
    • Luofu Mountain (罗浮山): One of the most famous mountains in Guangdong, Luofu Mountain is an important Taoist cultural site and a popular destination for hiking and wellness travel. Visitors can explore ancient temples, waterfalls, forests, and mountain trails while enjoying fresh air and beautiful landscapes.
    • Hakka Culture & Traditional Villages: Huizhou has a strong Hakka cultural heritage, especially in areas such as Boluo (博罗) and Longmen (龙门). Travelers can discover traditional villages, ancestral halls, folk customs, and local architecture that reflect the history of Hakka communities.
    • Hot Springs & Wellness Experiences: Huizhou is known for its natural hot springs, especially in Longmen County (龙门县). Visitors can enjoy hot spring resorts surrounded by mountains, forests, and countryside scenery, making it a popular destination for relaxation and wellness holidays.
    • Natural Landscapes & Outdoor Activities: With mountains, forests, rivers, and coastline, Huizhou is ideal for hiking, cycling, camping, photography, and eco-tourism. Scenic areas such as Nankun Mountain (南昆山) provide opportunities for forest exploration and outdoor adventures.
    • Seafood & Local Cuisine: Huizhou’s cuisine combines Cantonese traditions with coastal flavors. Popular local foods include fresh seafood, salt-baked chicken, Hakka dishes, Meicai pork (梅菜扣肉), river delicacies, and traditional Cantonese snacks.
    • Modern Coastal City & Greater Bay Area Gateway: As an important city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Huizhou offers modern infrastructure, shopping, entertainment, and convenient transportation. It is an excellent base for exploring nearby destinations such as Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou, and Shanwei.
