Chengdu Happy Valley
Chengdu Happy Valley (成都欢乐谷), located at No. 16, Xihua Avenue, Jinniu District, Chengdu (成都市金牛区西华大道16号), is one of China’s major amusement parks. Officially opened on January 18, 2009, it is the third park in the Happy Valley chain following those in Shenzhen (深圳) and Beijing (北京). Chengdu Happy Valley receives around 2.5 million visitors annually.
The park covers a total area of 510,000 square meters and has an investment of 2.3 billion RMB. It is divided into nine themed areas: Sunshine Harbor (阳光港), Happy Times (欢乐时光), Caribbean Cyclone (加勒比旋风), Bashu Mystique (巴蜀迷情), Magic Forest (Flying Island) (魔幻森林/飞行岛), Magic Castle (魔幻城堡), Fly over the Mediterranean (飞跃地中海), Happy Light Year (欢乐光年), and Silk Road Legends (丝路传奇). The park offers over 130 interactive rides and attractions.
On January 18, 2010, Chengdu Happy Valley was awarded the National 4A-level Tourist Attraction (AAAA级) by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism (四川省文化和旅游厅).

Development History
January 18, 2009: Official opening of Chengdu Happy Valley.
May 31, 2013: The second phase of Chengdu Happy Valley was opened.
June 14, 2014: Chengdu Happy Valley Water World opened.
July 7, 2017: The third phase of Chengdu Happy Valley was launched.
February 10, 2018: The park introduced its first vertical drop roller coaster, the first of its kind in Southwest China.
March 2023: Chengdu Happy Valley entered a strategic partnership with Tencent Music Entertainment Group (腾讯音乐娱乐集团).
June 1, 2023: The Ultraman Theme Pavilion (奥特曼主题馆) officially opened in the Magic Castle area. This is the first Ultraman-themed pavilion in Western China and the third in the country.

Sunny Harbor is located at the entrance of Chengdu Happy Valley, with Happy Hour (欢乐时光) to the east, Fly Over the Mediterranean (飞跃地中海) to the west, and Magic Forest (魔幻森林) to the north. It features two main attractions: Bungee Jumping and Boat Ride.

Located in the eastern part of Chengdu Happy Valley, Happy Hour (欢乐时光) is adjacent to Sunny Harbor (阳光港) and Magic Forest (魔幻森林) on the west, and Caribbean Cyclone (加勒比旋风) on the north. Traditional Performances
“抓壮丁” (Conscription Show)
The “Conscription Show” (抓壮丁) is a traditional performance at Great Sichuan (巴蜀迷情) in Chengdu Happy Valley. Set against the backdrop of the civil war in the Republic of China era, the show tells the story of the Nationalist Party’s efforts to expand its army by forcibly recruiting young men. With costumes, makeup, and props that reflect Sichuan’s unique flavor, the performance integrates combat, gunfights, fireworks, explosions, sound effects, and audience participation, blending cinematic special effects with Sichuan-style humor.
Other Performances
In addition to the “Conscription Show” (抓壮丁), Chengdu Happy Valley also features performances such as the “Dunking Show” (花式扣篮SHOW), “Grand Parade” (欢乐大巡游), “Extreme Sports” (极限运动), and “Silk Road Odyssey” (丝路传奇).

Infrastructure Development
In 2021, Chengdu Happy Valley (成都欢乐谷) completed several infrastructure upgrades, including the enhancement of the POS retail system, ticketing system, equipment monitoring system, and the construction of China Telecom base stations.
In June 2022, the Old Captain Restaurant (老船长餐厅) underwent a landscape lighting upgrade. In July of the same year, the Snowy Dragon (雪域飞龙) queue area received an upgrade with sunshade nets.
In March 2023, Chengdu Happy Valley completed a landscaping improvement project for the main loop road. In May of 2023, the Happy Adventure Island (欢乐奇遇岛) saw improvements to its non-powered equipment.
Honors and Awards
January 18, 2010: Chengdu Happy Valley (成都欢乐谷) was recognized by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism (四川省文化和旅游厅) as a National 4A Level Tourist Attraction (国家AAAA级旅游景区).
December 28, 2011: Chengdu Happy Valley received the “2011 China Travel Award for Industry Influence” (2011中国旅行奖旅游业年度影响力大奖) and ranked among the top 20 theme parks in the Asia-Pacific region.
2012: Chengdu Happy Valley won the “2011 China Tourism Comprehensive List of Most Popular Travel Brand” (2011中国旅游总评榜全国总榜单揭榜年度最受欢迎旅游品牌大奖).
April 2022: Chengdu Happy Valley was honored as the “12th National Youth Green Plant Adoption (Sichuan Station) Public Practice Base” (第十二届全国青少年绿植领养（四川站）公益实践基地).
October 2022: According to the AECOM (基建咨询服务企业) and TEA (主题娱乐协会), Chengdu Happy Valley was ranked among the Top 25 Global Theme Parks in 2021.
April 22, 2023: Chengdu Happy Valley won the “Most Influential New Media Secondary Account of Central Enterprises” award (2022年度中央企业最具影响力新媒体二级账号).

Location
Chengdu Happy Valley (成都欢乐谷) is located at 16 Xihua Avenue (西华大道16号), Jinniu District (金牛区), Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It is situated at the intersection of North 3rd Ring Road (北三环路) and Xihua Avenue (西华大道, Jiadao North Extension). The park is about 6.6 kilometers from Tianfu Square (天府广场) and a 10-minute drive from the Chengdu Central Business District (成都市中心商务区). It is about 15 minutes by car to the Chengmian Expressway (成绵高速) and 20 minutes to the Chengyu Expressway (成渝高速).

Chengdu Metro Line 6 (Xihua Avenue Station) (成都地铁6号线西华大道站): Exit D (D出口) leads directly to Chengdu Happy Valley, about 736 meters on foot.
Driving
Visitors can drive along Sichuan Province Chengdu’s 3rd Ring Road (四川省成都市三环路) and reach Jiada Liujiao Bridge (交大立交桥), or head toward Jiadao Road (交大路) and Xihua Avenue (西华大道) to reach the park.
Parking entrances: Gate 2 and Gate 3.
