Top 100 RV Campsites in China

Since 2020, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China has entrusted the China Tourism Automobile and Boat Association to conduct a nationwide evaluation of the first batch of "Self-Drive RV Campsites" (自驾车旅居车营地). After thorough procedures including provincial (autonomous region) recommendations, material reviews, on-site inspections, and public announcements, a total of 57 campsites were selected across three batches, recognized as 5C and 4C level self-drive RV campsites. Below is an overview of the 5C and 4C level self-drive RV campsites, compiled for reference.

RV Campsite Rating System

The RV campsites are classified into three quality levels, denoted by the letter "C," with more "C"s indicating a higher quality and more developed campsite infrastructure:

• 3C: Standard RV Campsite

• 4C: High-Quality RV Campsite

• 5C: Premium RV Campsite

The number of "C"s indicates the level of infrastructure, services, environmental management, and safety, with 5C level campsites representing the highest standards.

Since the China Tourism Automobile and Boat Association began the nationwide grading of self-drive RV campsites in 2021, a total of 20 campsites were rated 5C, and 37 were rated 4C. These campsites have passed strict evaluations and meet the relevant standards for "Self-Drive RV Campsite Quality Classification," ensuring they offer high-quality infrastructure, services, environmental upkeep, and safety management.

Certification of RV Campsites

Since 2021, the China Tourism Vehicle and Ship Association has been conducting the national certification for RV campsites. To date, three batches have certified 20 RV campsites as 5C level and 37 campsites as 4C level.

Meeting the 5C and 4C standards means these campsites have undergone rigorous evaluations and adhere to the corresponding standards set by the RV Campsite Quality Level Classification. This signifies that the campsites are of high quality in areas such as infrastructure, service quality, environmental maintenance, and safety management.

2. Jiangsu Province: Changzhou Taihu Bay Camping Valley (常州太湖湾露营谷)

First Batch of 4C Level Self-Drive RV Campsites

1. Hebei Province: Huaxi Valley RV Campsite (河北省花溪谷房车露营地)

Located in Lingshou County (灵寿县), Shijiazhuang City (石家庄市), the campsite is surrounded by scenic attractions within an hour's drive, including Xibaipo (西柏坡), Manshan Huaxi Valley (漫山花溪谷), and Wuyuezhai (五岳寨).
The campsite features 150 accommodation units and 40 self-driving RV spots, along with a leisure area that includes tree bridges, a beach bath, a glass pool, a colorful slide, a surfing pool, a children’s water park, and a garden maze. The campsite also has an outdoor education and practical labor zone.

2. Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region: Qinglong Mountain Self-Drive RV Campsite (内蒙古自治区奈曼旗青龙山自驾车露营地)
