Why is Golden Summit So Special?

Mount Emei Golden Summit, also known as Huazang Temple. The number of the Buddhist temples dotting the mountain is quite inspiring but the views from the Golden Summit at an elevation of 3,077 meters above sea level steals the glory.

Golden Summit is located on the main peak of Mount Emei in Sichuan Province, China. Mt. Emei in Sichuan Province in Southwest China is one of the most well-known summer destinations in China.

Independent Travel

For independent travelers you can 

By Train: Take a train from Leshan Railway Station to Emeishan Station, and then transfer to bus to get here.
By Long-Distance Bus: Take a bus from Xiaoba Bus Station to Baoguo Temple Bus Station and then walk to the entrance. The bus departs once fully occupied from 07:30 to 18:00. Ticket fare is CNY11 and duration is about one hour.
By Chartered Bus: There are many private mini-buses sending passengers to this scenic spot from Leshan downtown or Giant Buddha scenic area. The fare is about CNY20-30 per passenger and duration is about one hour. Please note that Mount Emei is not located in Emeishan City area and one should confirm the driver will send you to the mountain scenic area before boarding.

Natural Wonders

Golden Summit is an ideal place for four marvelous spectacles of Sunrise, Cloud Sea, Buddhist Light and sacred lamp. Golden Summit offers a different view in each season and is suitable for visiting all year round. However, the best times to visit are spring and autumn because these two seasons offer the most beautiful views.

Cliff

In the east of Golden Summit lies the Cliff, a cliff with a height of more than 600 meters. It is the largest rock in the whole mountain, named Sheshen cliff. At the cliff, you can see  the famous “Buddha light” and “Buddha lamp”.

Copper Palace

At the top of Golden Summit, there is a rare treasure called “Golden Summit Copper Palace”, which was built in Ming Dynasty, about 400 years ago. The palace is 8 meters high, 4.8 meters wide and 4.3 meters long, the whole palace is build by copper.

Useful Travel Tips

  1. It would be very cold at night and in the morning, so bring enough clothes if you are going to spend the night at the mountain.
  2. Winter is the best season to see the Mount Emei cloud sea.
