Why is Qingying Pavilion So Special?

Qingying Pavilion, its altitude is 710 meters, also known as Woyun temple, which was named Niuxin temple in Tang Dynasty, and renamed as Qingying Pavilion in Ming Dynasty. Its overall layout reflects the artistic conception of “man and nature being a harmony”, which is a perfect example of Chinese Buddhist temple.

Qingyin Pavilion, located under Niuxin mountain, Emei Mountain, Sichuan Province, China. Mt. Emei in Sichuan Province in Southwest China is one of the most well-known summer destinations in China.

Independent Travel

For independent travelers you can 

By Train: Take a train from Leshan Railway Station to Emeishan Station, and then transfer to bus to get here.
By Long-Distance Bus: Take a bus from Xiaoba Bus Station to Baoguo Temple Bus Station and then walk to the entrance. The bus departs once fully occupied from 07:30 to 18:00. Ticket fare is CNY11 and duration is about one hour.
By Chartered Bus: There are many private mini-buses sending passengers to this scenic spot from Leshan downtown or Giant Buddha scenic area. The fare is about CNY20-30 per passenger and duration is about one hour. Please note that Mount Emei is not located in Emeishan City area and one should confirm the driver will send you to the mountain scenic area before boarding.

The Sound of Nature

Qingying Pavilion is an ideal place for listening the sound of nature, especially at night. Listening to “Qingyin” in Qingyin Pavilion in the middle of the night is popular start at about 1200 years ago. In Qingyin Pavilion, you can see the scenery of mountains and rivers, smell the flowers and plants, hear the sound of flowing spring, and touch the stone tablet of the pavilion. 

Black River and White River

The black and white river mixed with each other under the Niuxin Pavilion. The black water on the right side comes from the black dragon pool, and the color of the water is black, in Chinese is Dai, so the river is also known as black dragon river. The white water on the left side comes from the Sancha River. Because the color of the water is white, so the river is also known as white dragon river.

Useful Travel Tips

  1. It would be very cold at night and in the morning, so bring enough clothes if you are going to spend the night at the mountain.
  2. Winter is the best season to see the Mount Emei cloud sea.
