Day 1 Zhangjiajie Arrival

Local guide will meet and greet you at the airport or train station, 15 minutes transfer to hotel in zhangjiajie city. Free and easy time to explore the small city. Zhangjiajie is a small city located in the northwest of Hunan province, with a total population of 1.7 million. It is famous for its unique sand stone quarts peaks and mountains .

Day 2 Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Bailong Elevator of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

After enjoying breakfast at hotel, travel to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Explore the beautiful scenery while making our way to Bailong Elevator, which is made entirely of see-through glass. Take a ride in this famous elevator, up to Yuanjiajie Mountain and have a bird’s eye view of the breath-taking landscape.

Once at Yuanjiajie’s summit, enjoy 2.5-hour hike to the Pillar of Southern Sky, one of the tallest of the 3000 pillars in the park. This pillar was officially renamed as the Avatar Hallelujah Mountain (阿凡达-哈利路亚山), in honour of the film Avatar, which took inspiration from these peculiar floating peaks. From there, we will proceed to the Platform of Forgetfulness to admire nearby peak-views before walking across the First Bridge Under Heaven.

Lunch at the local restaurant. Next, take the park shuttle bus to visit Tianzi Mountain, known as ‘the Monarch of the Peak Forest’. Pine trees, the YuBi (imperial brushes) Peaks, Xihai Stone Forest, and other incredible views and scenery await. Then make our way back down. Opt to take the Mt.Tianzi Cable Way or hike down. Transfer back to the hotel, where you will have free time in the evening.

Day 3 Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass bridge – Baofeng Lake

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Then drive about 40min drive to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. After arrival, walk along the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge. This bridge is not only the highest, but also the longest glass bridge inthe world. It is not for the faint-hearted. The Glass bridge is built between two mountains of zhangjiajie Grand canyon, which is 375meters long and 6meters wide, With a height of 300meters from bottoms.

Hike through the Canyon and enjoy the beautiful, tranquil sceneries of breath-taking cliffs, lush forests, caves, colourful streams and rivers that surround you. Upon decent, slide down a 600-meter-long marble slide at no extra cost. A thick canvas and gloves are available to protect your hands, have fun and give your legs a rest!

Afterwards, if you still have the energy, opt to visit Baofeng Lake, where you can enjoy some locals singing while taking a boat ride on the lake.

Day 4 Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Golden Whip Stream in Zhangjiajie

Proceed to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park again to explore the Golden Whip Stream(Jinbianxi). This charming valley is most likely to bring you into the Pandora’s wonderland of the movie Avatar. Have a leisure hiking about 2.5 hours along the stream. Relax yourself with the beautiful mountain, fresh air, and pure water. Later take cable car up and down to pay a visit to Huangshi village, which is 1080m above the sea level. It is the biggest sightseeing platform to view the spectacular scenery in the national park. A saying goes “He who does not reach Huangshi Village does not pay a true visit to Zhangjiajie.”

Day 5 Zhangjiajie Departure

Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park in Zhangjiajie

After breakfast, get ready to take the world’s longest cable car to the top of Tianmen Mountain. Once arrive at the mountaintop, wander along the Ghost Path, 1400m above land. Along the way, appreciate tourist attractions like Celestial Mountain Top, Glass Path, etc. Marvel at such sights as the 99-Turn Road and the 999-Steps that lead to the gate of Tianmen from up high on a glass sky walk . Opt. to take a chairlift to see the Tianmen temple, or choose to walk along a footpath. We will then take the escalator to reach Tianmen Gate.

After descending Tianmen Mountain, take a shuttle bus ride along the Heaven-Linking Avenue. On our way back to Zhangjiajie city, we will stop at a sandstone painting art gallery, where you can learn and appreciate this new kind of painting style. You will then have free time until your tour concludes with your transfer to the airport or train station.
