Zhangjiajie Transportation

Zhangjiajie City is located in the northwestern part of Hunan Province. It is located at the junction of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the settlement area of Dongting Lake. It is between 109°40" and 111° 20" east longitude and 28°52" to 29°48" north latitude. It connect Shimen CountyTaoyuan County in the east,  Yuanling County in the south and Hefeng County, Yi'en County of Hubei Province in the north. 

How to Get to Zhangjiajie

By Air

Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport, also known as Dayong Airport, Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport, is around 4 miles (6 kilometers) from downtown area and 25 miles (40 kilometers) from Wulingyuan Scenic Area, is a 4D civil transport airport and the second largest in Hunan Province. The airport is one of the most beautiful airports in China's natural sceneries.

Zhangjiajie Airport was completed in 1994, and passenger throughput has increased year by year. It has opened 59 domestic routes to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, and opened 20 overseas direct flights to Seoul, Osaka, Bangkok. And the annual passenger throughput is nearly 1.6 million.

Airport Bus

There are airport buses to the downtown of Zhangjiajie, which takes about 20 minutes. What's more, No. 401 bus is available around Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport, which can take you to the Central Bus Station. If you plan to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Wulingyuan Scenic Area and Tianzi Mountain, taking No. 401 Bus can take you to the Central Bus Station and there are direct long-distance buses to the above attractions.

By Train

At present, there are two railway stations in Zhangjiajie City. The one is Zhangjiajie North Railway Station, located in Xixiping, Yongding District, Zhangjiajie City. The other is Zhangjiajie Railway Station, located in Guangliping, Yongding District, Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province. Zhangjiajie West Railway Station is under construction, which is a high-speed rail station.

Nowadays, the Zhangjiajie Railway Station is the main transportation hub. It can be accessible from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Changsha, etc. by train.  Zhangjiajie Railway Station is about 4 km away from Zhangjiajie Tujia Ethnic Folk Park, 2.8 4.5 km away from Hehua International Airport, 38 km away from Wulingyuan Scenic Area, 54 km away from Tianzi Mountain. 

By Long-distance Bus

The main long-distance bus stations are Wulingyuan Bus Station and Zhangjiajie Bus Station. Zhangjiajie can be reached from the surrounding city, such as Changsha, Jishou, Changde, Wuhan and other cities. Buses to the nearby Yangjiajie Scenic Area and surrounding places such as Fenghuang County operate every day. Take bus No. 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 to the Zhangjiajie Bus Station.

How to Get Around Zhangjiajie

By Bus

When you want to get around Zhangjiajie, buses are your primary choice. Most of the buses in the city start around 6:00 am and end at 10:30 pm. It is very convenient to take a bus to get around the downtown of Zhangjiajie.

By Self-driving

It is very convenient to get around Zhangjiajie by self-driving, you can want to any place without waiting. It is possible to stay a place for several days. Do not worry to miss the cars or the beautiful attractions. All itineraries can be adjusted according to your requirements.

By Taxi

Taxi travel has greatly facilitated our daily life. The image of a taxi also represents the external image of a city. For tourists, it is very convenient to take a taxi to get around Zhangjiajie.

By Sharing Bike

It is the best choice to ride a bike around the city to appreciate the scenery. There are many dockless bikes on the streets of Zhangjiajie. To download bike sharing apps and finish the ID verification procedure, you can use these bikes. Usually CNY 0.5 - 1 for every 30 minutes.
