Beitun City

Located in northern Xinjiang (新疆), Beitun City (北屯市) is a young city situated along the Irtysh River (额尔齐斯河) and geographically located within Altay Prefecture (阿勒泰地区). Established in 2011, Beitun was the youngest city in China at the time of its creation. Known as “China’s northernmost major agricultural and reclamation area,” the city combines river landscapes, frontier culture, agricultural development, and convenient access to the natural wonders of northern Xinjiang.
