Chaka Salt Lake has a heavy salt bed close to the surface of the lake, which is one of the “four Qinghai scenery” with Ta’er Lamasery, Qinghai Lake and Mengda Tianchi. It is also awarded by National Geographic Magazine as one of the “55 obligatory visited places in people’s life”. Besides, Qinghai Lake is also included in this tour.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Xining Arrival
Sightseeing and Activities: Dongguan Great Mosque
Accommodation: Xining
Meals: Lunch
Take the morning flight or train to Xining and tour guide will pick you up from airport or train station. Then we will head to visit Dongguan Great Mosque, which is one of the “four great mosques in China”.
Day 2 Xining – Qinghai Lake – Chaka Town
Sightseeing and Activities: Riyue Mountains, Bird Island
Accommodation: Chaka Town
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
In the morning, drive about 2.5 hours to Qinghai Lake and we will stop at Riyue Mountains, which also known as “Sun and Moon Mountain”, which is part of the magnificent Qilian Mountain Range. On either side of the pass, the Ri (Sun) and Yue (Moon) Pavilions were built to commemorate Princess Wencheng’s sacrifice.
We will cruise on the lake and visit the Bird Island in the lake.
After the visit, drive to Chaka Town for overnight.
Day 3 Chaka Town – Xining
Sightseeing and Activities: Chaka Salt Lake, Jinyintan Prairie
Accommodation: Xining
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Get up early to enjoy the sunrise of Chaka Salt Lake. The Lake is as beautiful as a fairyland.
Then drive back to Xining. On the way, visit Jinyintan Prairie, a typical pastoral area, where there are more than 300,000 cattle and sheep live here.
Day 4 Xining
Sightseeing and Activities: Huangheqing Bridge, Guide National Geological Park

In the morning, drive along Laji Mountain and Danxia landscape to Guide county of Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. It is known as “the small jiangnan in the plateau”, and the “back garden” of the provincial capital, xining.
Then we will visit Huangheqing Bridge and cruise on the Yellow River to view the scenery. Afterwards, drive back to Xining and stop at Guide National Geological Park for a visit.
Day 5 Xining Departure
Sightseeing and Activities: Taer Monastery

Today we will visit Taer Monastery, the birthplace of lamaism shamanism founder Tsongkhapa, which is some 25 kilometers from Xining. It is a Tibetan lama monastery with a history of over 400 years with the “three treasures of the monastery”: mural, barbola and butter sculptures.
After that, be transferred to the airport or train station for your next destination.
