Xiong’an New Area (雄安新区) is a state-level development area located in central Hebei Province (河北省), about 100 kilometers southwest of Beijing (北京) and 50 kilometers east of Baoding (保定). Established in 2017, Xiong’an is designed as a major development hub for the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region (京津冀) and a demonstration area for future urban development. Built around the counties of Xiong County (雄县), Rongcheng County (容城县), and Anxin County (安新县), the area combines modern urban planning, wetland ecology, traditional villages, and northern Chinese cultural heritage.
