Tongren Attractions
Tongren city is located in the eastern part of the Guizhou plateau, the hinterland of Wuling mountain area. Due to its unique charm of plateau landscape and winding path leading to seclusion, Tongren attracts many domestic tourists, and there is a peak named Mount Fanjing in Wuling mountain range, which is full of mysterious color and magnificent. Tongren faces mountain on one side and water on the other three sides. Wujiang river passes through Shiqian, Sinan, Dejiang and Yanhe counties, forming "Baili Wujiang Gallery". Along the bank, there are magnificent Liulong Mountain karst cave group and Nine-dragon Cave Scenic Area. Besides, Tongren also has Ming Paradise(大明边城), Loushan Ancient Village(楼上古寨), the ancient commercial port cultural block of Zhongnan gate and other cultural and historical tourist attractions. Tongren is also a famous old revolutionary base. In 1934, He Long and Guan Xiangying founded the eastern Guizhou revolutionary base in Tongren, one of the eight red bases in China before the red army's long march. There are Former Residence of Zhou Yiqun(周逸群故居), Former Site of Revolutionary Committee in East Guizhou Special District, Fengxiangxi Conference Site(枫香溪会议会址) and other provincial cultural protection units.
