Beijing Qinghe Bay Golf Club

Beijing Qinghe Bay Golf Club(北京清河湾高尔夫俱乐部) was commissioned to provide landscape design services for the Qinghe Bay Olympic Village Golf Course. Situated across the river from the Olympic Park, and in view of the new Herzog and de Meuron designed Olympic Stadium, this 18 hole championship golf course was completed for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. To ensure that the golf course will have an established feel at opening, semi-mature Chinese Red Pines have been chosen as the dominant tree specimens.

Evidence has emerged over recent years suggesting that the game of golf may have originated in China. Whether this is the case or not, golf is rapidly gaining popularity in mainland China with new golf courses emerging all the time. Our colleague Jules Page recently visited the “Qinghe Bay Golf Country Club” in the North of Beijing C which was last year named the “best new golf course in Asia”.
