Itinerary

Morning: Departure from Beijing

  • 7:30 AM: Pick up from your hotel in Beijing.
  • Travel to Jimingyi: Drive approximately 150 km along the Jingzhang Highway, enjoying the scenic landscapes.

Visit Jimingyi

  • Ancient Post Station: Explore the Jimingyi post station, established during the Yuan Dynasty (1206-1368).
    • Historical Significance: This site served as a major transit post on the route from Beijing to Datong until 1913.
    • Original Layout: Walk through the square-shaped town featuring a 2 km long wall and two gates (east and west).

Afternoon: Drive to Xuanhua

  • 40 km Journey: Continue your drive to Xuanhua, where more historical exploration awaits.

Explore Xuanhua

  • Qinyuan Mansion: Visit this elegant mansion, a testament to local architecture and history.
  • Zhenshuo Mansion: Climb to the top for a bird’s-eye view of the ancient city and surrounding areas.

Evening: Return to Beijing

Pick up from your hotel at 7:30am. Drive along the Jingzhang Highway to Jimingyi. Jimingyi is about 150km away from Beijing. It is the place where an ancient post station is located, dating back to the Yuan Dynasty (1206-1368). It had been a major transit post station on the route from Beijing to Datong, Shanxi Province, until 1913. The ancient post station still retains its original layout. It is a square-shaped town with a 2 km long wall and two gates, one in the east and the other in the west.In recent years, the State has invested tens of thousands of yuan in restoration of the post station. The local government has set up the Jimingyi Relic Site Administration Committee to strengthen its protection of it.

After the visit to Jimingyi, drive about 40KM and reach Xuanhua. and visit Qinyuan Mansion, Zhenshuo Mansion and Ancient City Wall. You may have a birds’view of the ancient city while climbing up Zensuo Mansion. Well. After the tour of Jimingyi and Xuanhua, you will be transferred to your hotel in Beijing.
