6 Days Shandong Tour by Speed Train

Shandong is a pivotal cultural and religious site for Taoism, Chinese Buddhism, and Confucianism. During this 6 days Shandong tour, we will visit the cities of Jinan, Qufu and Qingdao. What’s more, we will climb the leader of the Five Sacred Mountains in China – Mount Tai.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Jinan Arrival

Sightseeing and Activities: Baotu Spring Park, Daming Lake Park

Upon your arrival, tour guide will pick you up and then transfer you to your hotel for a short rest. Then we will head to visit Baotu Spring Park, the “Number One Spring under the Heaven”. It is one of the three major attractions in Jinan.

After that, move on to Daming Lake Park, another major attraction in Jinan. Fed by the artesian karst springs of the area, it is the largest lake in the city of Jinan.

Day 2 Jinan – Mount Tai

Sightseeing and Activities: Dai Temple, Mt. Taishan

Mount Taishan in Taian, Shandong

In the morning, drive about 1 hour to Taian and visit Dai Temple first. Located at the foot of Mount Tai and first built during the Qin Dynasty, the Taoist temple is the largest and most complete ancient building complex in the area with five major halls and many small buildings.

Then we will climb Mount Tai. Mount Tai is the foremost of the five Great Mountains of China and was listed as the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. Drive to the Halfway Gate to the Heaven. Then, hike about 1.5 hours or take cable car(paid by yourself) to the top of the Mt. Taishan. Visit South Heavenly Gate, Heavenly Street, Jade Emperor Peak, Inscription on the Cliff, Sun Rising Peak, etc.

After that, go down the mountain by cable car.

Day 3 Mount Tai – Qufu

Sightseeing and Activities: Confucian Temple, The Confucian Mansion, the Confucian Cemetery

In the morning, head to Qufu and experience the Confucian culture. The three most famous cultural sites of the city is collectively known as “San Kong”: Confucian Temple, The Confucian Mansion, the Confucian Cemetery, which have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994.

Day 4 Qufu – Qingdao

Sightseeing and Activities: Tsingtao Brewery Museum

Today we will take 3.5-hour high speed train to Qingdao. Upon arrival, met by the local tour guide and transferred to the hotel for a short rest.

In the afternoon, head to visit Tsingtao Brewery Museum. Qingdao is best known for its Tsingtao Brewery, founded by a German-British joint venture in 1903. Get close to the mysterious origins, the long history of brewing and instruments used. We can also taste the various freshly brewed beers and buy some souvenirs here.

Day 5 Qingdao

Sightseeing and Activities: Zhanqiao Pier, Little Qingdao Isle, Badaguan Scenic Resort, Qingdao No.1 Bathing Beach

Today is a full day to explore Qingdao city. The first stop is Zhan Bridge. As the first wharf at Qingdao, Zhan Bridge pier was started in 1891 and is viewed as the official symbol of Qingdao.

Then move on to Little Qingdao Isle, a symbol of Qingdao with its old German lighthouse. Lying on the north side of the Jiaozhou Bay, it also gets the name of Violin Isle due to the shape of Violin.

Continue the trip to Badaguan Scenic Area. Literally meaning “the eight great passes”, it is made up of eight avenues named after great military forts of the ancient times.

The last stop is First Bathing Beach, the best of its kind in Qingdao, which is famous for its clear water, mild waves and soft sand.

Day 6 Qingdao Departure

Sightseeing and Activities: May Fourth Square, the 2008 Olympics Sailing Center

After breakfast, head to visit May Fourth Square and the 2008 Olympics Sailing Center. Then transferred to the airport or train station for your next destination. Service ends.
