4 Days Haba Snow Mountain Climbing Adventure with Tiger Leaping Gorge Tour

Rising above the northwest side of Tiger Leaping Gorge in Yunnan, Haba Snow Mountain is opposite to the higher Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and towers 3,500 meters above the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. During this tour, we will start from Lijiang and have a short trekking at Tiger Leaping Gorge, then head to Haba village and trek to the top of Haba Snow Mountain, where you can enjoy the wonderful scenery of Haba Snow Mountain and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with Yangtze River in the middle.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Lijiang - Hutiaoxia - Haba Village

Sightseeing and Activities: the First Bend on the Yangtze River, Iron Chain Bridge, the upper Tiger Leaping Gorge, middle part of Tiger Leaping Gorge
Accommodation: Haba Village
Meals: Lunch

In the morning, drive about 60 KM to visit the First Bend on the Yangtze River and Iron Chain Bridge in the Stone Drum town. This town got its name from a large, cylindrical, marble tablet shaped like a drum.

Continue the drive to the upper Tiger Leaping Gorge, which is the deepest gorge in the world. Then, head for the middle part of Tiger Leaping Gorge for your lunch. After a short trekking in Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge, drive to Haba Village, a small Naxi village located at the foot of Haba Snow Mountain.

Stay overnight at Haba Snow Mountain Guesthouse. Prepare for your equipment and acclimatize yourself to the altitude.

Day 2 Haba Village - the Base Campe

Accommodation: Base Camp or wooden hut
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Trek about 7 hours up the Haba Mountain for about 15 km to the Base Camp(4200 m). Have picnic lunch in Haba Snow Mountain.

It is a long trekking along the muddy path. You'd better wear good waterproof boots. Then we will trek through the beautiful forest apart from three meadows that you will cross on the way. Adjust the altitude sickness and adapt to the high elevation.

Note: It is not allowed to sleep before 9:00 PM.

Overnight at the Base Camp or in the wooden hut(beds and quilt are availible in the wooden hut).

Optional: Have one more day in Acclimatization in the Base Camp.

Day 3 Base Camp - the Summit - Base Camp

Accommodation: Base Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Get up at 3:00 am and have a simple breakfast. Off to the top at 4:00 am. Leave most of your luggage at the Camp 1, take your mountaineering tools for the climbing to the summit of Haba Mountain.

It is the ice and snow trail from the camp 1 to the summit, which will take about 3 hours to the top of the Haba Snow Mountain(5396m). Enjoy the wonderful scenery of Haba Snow Mountain and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with Yangtze River in the middle.

After picnic lunch, trek down to Camp 1 to take your luggage, then continue trek down to the Base Camp. Our service clerk at the BC will prepare good meals and waiting for you.

Day 4 Base Camp - Haba Village - Lijiang

Sightseeing and Activities: Heihai Lake
Accommodation:
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Trek down from Base Camp to the Long Wang Bian Village. Visit Heihai Lake with the original forest. After lunch, drive back to Lijiang.
