Hangzhou Unveil Logo Design and Photo Competition for Asian Food Festival

As Beijing prepares to host a dialogue among Asian civilizations in May, a sideline event of the conference will greet international visitors at the same time in Hangzhou, East China’s Zhejiang province.

Gourmet Hangzhou Asian Food Festival will feature exhibitions on local delicacies and tableware, forums on Asian food, human civilization and tea culture, as well as a series of cultural activities centered around the 19th Asian Olympics to be held in Hangzhou in 2022.

The organizers have unveiled four competitions calling for entries from foodies worldwide: a logo design competition, a photography and video competition, a comic contest, and a competition to select the best chefs in Hangzhou.
Logo design works need to display the concept of Asian Food Festival and the cultural connotation of authentic Hangzhou food. The works must be original. Hand-drawn draft or computer drawing are both acceptable.

The works can be created by individuals or groups and submitted as single or multiple submissions, but the maximum of submission is three. From March 20 to March 31, candidates can send their design drawings, design instructions and their information to hzyzmsj19@163.com via e-mail in compressed formats.

Before April 5, the judging panel will evaluate all the pieces and select 5 works for 1 first prize, 2 second prizes and 2 third prizes. The first prize will be 20,000 yuan, the second prize 10,000 yuan, and the third prize 5,000 yuan.
Entries for the Photo and Video Contest must be original and reflect Asian cuisine culture. Themes include ‘Taste of Asia’ Photo Contest, 10 Most authentic Hangzhou restaurants and Hangzhou’s 10 Most Characteristic Asian Restaurants.

The winning works will be displayed during the Asian Food Festival.

Details of the Comic Competition and the chef competition haven’t been unveiled yet.
