Where is Grand Detian Waterfall?
The Detian Waterfall Scenic Area lies in Daxin, Chongzuo, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, around 145 kilometers from the downtown area of Nanning and neighboring Vietnam. Detian waterfall is more than 200 meters wide, and more than 60 meters deep. More than 40 kilometers of its southern border is considered as a part of Vietnam. This waterfall crosses the boundary between China and Vietnam and joins with the Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam.

Main Attractions of Grand Detian Waterfall
Below the Detian Waterfall is a deep pool to a width of more than 200 meters and a depth of over 30 meters. There are a large number of big fish in the pool and the fish meat is very delicious. So, the villagers who live there often come to the pool to catch fish.
The Heishui River, called Black Water River in English, is ornamented by verdant plants and peculiar hills. The water, of course, is not black in color. It got the name because of the black reflections of trees and hills. When you are boating on the Heishui River, you can see the turning water wheels, the houses of minority Zhuang, the terraced farmland and the working peasants.
The Shatun Waterfall is another famous waterfall in the scenic area. The fall flows down from seven terraces.

Independent Travel
1. There is a special tourism express bus departing at Fengling Passenger Transport Station at 9:00 am every day, which can go directly to the tourist center of the scenic spot.
2. If you miss the direct buses, one can take the scheduled buses from Nanning Bei Da Passenger Station, which goes to Daxin County first and leaves every 20 minutes. After get off at bus station at Daxin County, you should transfer to a bus of the route “Daxin – Qilong – Detian” to arrive at Detian Waterfall.
3. Everyday, there are 1 shuttle buses directly leaving for the Detian Waterfall Scenic Area from Nanning Langdong Bus Station in Nanning. And it usually departs at 9:00 am, and returning bus to Nanning is at 3:30 p.m. The journey takes about 3 hours.

Best Time to Visit
The spring and summer time is the best season to visit Detian Waterfall. In spring, the fiery-red kapoks peculiar to the south scatter around the waterfall, which makes it quite beautiful. In summer, because of the rainfall, the waterfall becomes more spectacular than usual time. The best time to visit Detian Waterfall is from June to November every year. The Detian Waterfall has plenty of water in the summer and the surrounding vegetation is lush.
