Hailin City

Hailin City (海林市), under Mudanjiang City (牡丹江市) in Heilongjiang Province (黑龙江省), is widely known as the “Land of Forests and Snowfields,” home to China Snow Town (中国雪乡) and one of China’s best-known Siberian tiger destinations. It is also closely associated with the revolutionary story of Yang Zirong (杨子荣) and the setting of The Taking of Tiger Mountain (林海雪原). Erlanghe Forest Farm: Erlanghe Forest Farm (二浪河林场) lies along the Yaxue Highway and offers a quieter alternative to Snow Town. Traditional wooden houses, rime-covered forests, mountain viewpoints, and uncrowded winter scenery make it particularly suitable for photography and slow-paced snow travel.

Datudingzi Mountain: Datudingzi Mountain (大秃顶子山) rises to about 1,690 meters and is one of the highest mountains in Heilongjiang. Hengdaohezi Russian Town: Hengdaohezi Russian Town (横道河子俄式古镇) is a historic railway settlement known for Russian-style architecture and the heritage of the Chinese Eastern Railway. Major landmarks include historic churches, the old locomotive depot, railway buildings, streets lined with traditional houses, and atmospheric railway crossings, making it one of the most photogenic historic towns in Northeast China.

Erlongshan Film Base: Erlongshan Film Base (雪乡二龙山影视基地) near China Snow Town features reconstructed Northeastern villages, historic courtyards, revolutionary-era settings, and traditional performance spaces. Folk shows, regional dances, and film-themed scenery provide additional cultural experiences beyond the snow landscapes.

Hengdaohezi Siberian Tiger Park: Hengdaohezi Siberian Tiger Park (横道河子东北虎林园) is one of the best-known Siberian tiger conservation and breeding centers in China. Visitors can observe Siberian tigers from protected vehicles and viewing platforms, while other wildlife exhibits and educational facilities make the park especially popular with families.

Taipinggou Ancient Red Pine Forest: Taipinggou Ancient Red Pine Forest (太平沟原始红松森林) preserves mature red-pine woodland, mountain streams, waterfalls, and long forest walking routes.
