Lanzhou Attractions

Lanzhou, located on the banks of the Yellow River, is the capital city and cultural center of Gansu Province in Northwest China. It is the only city where the Yellow River passes through and one of the major points on the ancient Silk Road. The city is surrounded by mountains and waters, forming a unique and beautiful urban landscape. Here are the Five Spring Mountain Park which is famous for its five springs and several Buddhist temples. The Zhongshan Bridge was the first permanent bridge over the Yellow River. Lanzhou Botanical Garden, the Baita Mountain Park and museums scattered around the city such as Gansu Provincial Museum are all great places to visit. The Yellow River has not only nurtured the people of Lanzhou, but also brought rich specialties to it, such as white melon, winter pear and white peach. It has made Lanzhou a famous melon and fruit city at home and abroad. The ancient Silk Road has also left many places of interest and splendid culture, attracting a large number of Chinese and foreign tourists to visit, such as Xinglong Mountain and Xiguan Mosque, one of the largest mosques in China.
