Deyi Miao Zhai is located in the western suburbs of Jishou City, with the Aizhai as the center, east to the Tangle Cave, west to the Dalong Cave, south from Wushan and Liantai Mountain, and north to the Liusi Waterfall. Deyi Miao Village is hidden in a strange danger. Beautiful, the cliffs are deep in the valley, the peaks overlap, forming many cliffs.

Dehang Miao Village is located in west suburb of Jishou city, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan province, China. In Hmong, “dehang” means beautiful valley. The village lies in the central part of Dehang scenic spot. It is built around mountains and waterfalls, with wind-and-fire wall, Diaojiao House, and carved window. All the buildings are of typical Miao features, and they all reveal a sense of former adherents. In this sense, the village makes a strong contrast with the modern cities outside the mountains, thus attracts lots of tourists and researchers of ancient culture.
Main Attractions of Dehang Miao Village
On the way to the village, you can marvel the most breathtaking bridge in the world – Aizhai Suspension Bridge, which is newly completed. The bridge is built between two high mountains and has a total length of 1073.65 meters. It would be very exciting to visit one of the engineering wonders of the world.
There are also fold customs performances in the village, including Miao marriage customs show, costumes show of the Miao nationality and drum performance. You can’t miss them. And the cost of performances has been included in the entrance ticket, so you do not have to pay extra fee. But the performance is not available every day. It depends on weather and the number of tourists in the day.
Dehang Grand Canyon
Dehang Grand Canyon is located in deep Wuling mountains where people of miao inhabit .Dehang, means beautiful canyon in Hmong language.Distinctively,Dehang Grand Canyon sets natural scenery and amorous feelings of Miao nationality as one.And it is honoured as the only national key scenic area to have achieved that in Hunan.The grand canyon is about 48 km long and 1.5 to 3.5 kilometers wide,with an altitude of 680 meters to 900 meters and vertical level 400 meters to 600 meters.Towering valleys, overlapping peaks, crisscrossing river, and various waterfalls .In the spring,everything wakes up.Trees are becomng green and flowers blossom.
Liusha Waterfall
It’s beautifully green in this area and there is a path you can take up alongside another waterfall that tumbles and turns through the rocks. women are washing clothes ,while their husbands are ploughing on the farmland.Birds are singing ,the cliff echoing their voice. Cattles’ bells are ringing rethmly. Chiken and ducks are paddling in the river. Sheep are eating grass happily on the hill.Everything goes in their own way leisurely. it can be high enough for outdoor paragliders to hover carefully. Low enough for a mountain bike to shuttle through the forest cheerily. Everything here will get you immersed in the arresting beautiful scenery of the grand canyon.
Best Time to Visit Xiangxi
To travel in Xiangxi, there is no obvious best time due to the agreeable weather all year round. If have to choose a best time, maybe it is from July to September with celebrated ethnic festivals of Miao people, the Songs Festival on the sixth day of lunar June and the Autumn Festival on the 13th Chinese solar term, Liqiu, which means the beginning of the autumn and falls generally on August 8th or 9th.
