It is located 32 km (20 mi) northeast of Beijing’s city centre, in an enclave of Chaoyang District and the surroundings of that enclave in suburban Shunyi District. The airport is owned and operated by the Beijing Capital International Airport Company Limited, a state-controlled company. The airport’s IATA Airport code, PEK, is based on the city’s former romanized name, Peking.

Arxan (or A’ershan) Yi’ershi Airport (IATA: YIE, ICAO: ZBES) is an airport serving the city of Arxan (A’ershan) in the Hinggan League of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China. It is located near the town of Yi’ershi, 16.5 kilometers north of the city center. Construction started in September 2008 with a total investment of 303 million yuan, and the airport was opened on 28 August 2011.
