Yunquan Temple in Zhangjiakou

Location

Yunquan Temple in Zhangjiakou(张家口云泉寺) is located in the Ci’er Mountains west of Zhangjiakou City. Yunquan Temple  got its name because of the clear spring in the half Ci’er Mountain. Located in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei province, Qiaoxi District north of the son of the mountain, from the center of Laocheng District Walk just half an hour away.

Main Attractions in Yunquan Temple

  • Cloud spring ancient temple is located in the hillside, the new expansion of the part of the basic from the foot of the hill, up to three different heights of the courtyard, each courtyard has a main hall There is also a shrine to Sakyamuni Buddha.
  • On the cliff, there are many poems and inscriptions left by tourists and famous scholars. According to legend, in the winter of 1923, Kang Youwei’s (康有为) came to Zhangjiakou from Wuzhong(吴中) to visit Yunquan Temple in Ci’er Mountain.
  • On the cliff near Yunquan Temple, there are three caves side by side from north to south, which are the three scenic spots of Yunquan Mountain. It is said that if you want to have a good time, you’d better take “three clothes”. They are windbreakers, raincoats and cotton-padded clothes.The three caves are water cave, wind cave and ice cave.

Historical and Modern Value

It was built in Hongwu, Ming Dynasty (1393 AD), and has been more than 600 years. In 1993, it was announced by Hebei Provincial Government as a provincial key cultural relics protection unit.

    You can Directly Take No.9 bus from Zhangjiakou to Yuxian, when you get to Yuxian county, you will find it.

    During Spring, Summer and Autumn, the weather is very cool, it is the best time to visit Yunquan temple
