Exhibition Features
-
Unique Architectural Style: Designed by AUBE, the exhibition hall draws inspiration from Suzhou’s Lingbi Stone (宿州灵璧石), known for its thin, airy, porous, and creased characteristics. The design employs contemporary techniques to create a culturally distinctive landmark. Its shape resembles a carved Lingbi Stone, with angular, hard, slim, and upright lines highlighting the stone’s features. The building’s facade features patterns derived from the stone’s appearance, crafted with GRC concrete to create a play of light and shadow.
-
Integration of Tradition and Modernity: The hall combines traditional elements with modern technology and design. For example, it features atriums, side courtyards, terraces, and gardens connected in a zigzag layout. This design, along with bridges, partitions, and glass screens, facilitates movement between interior and exterior spaces, enriching the spatial experience and reflecting the concept of “airy.”
-
Low-Tech Ecological Energy-Saving Strategies: The exhibition hall incorporates low-tech ecological energy-saving measures to reduce energy consumption. For instance, the “narrow lanes” and “courtyards” form a “hollow structure with multiple wind tunnels.” The “narrow lanes” align with summer wind directions, promoting natural ventilation, while the “courtyard” plants block winter winds to enhance indoor comfort, embodying the concept of “porous.”
