Yuxi Climate

Located in plateau area of low altitude, Yuxi City belongs to subtropical mosoon climate.  Its climate changes along with the complex topography and air current condition, featured by dry spring and winter, and rainy summer and autumn. Boasting mild and moist weather, the annual average temperate is 15.4-24.2℃. The aunnal average precipitation is 787.8-1000mm, which is centralized on June to October. May to October is rainy season and June to August have heavy and intense rainfall. January to March is frost period. Tempered by the low latitude and moderate elevation, Yuxi has a mild subtropical highland climate (Köppen Cwb), with short, mild, dry winters, and warm, rainy summers. Frost may occur in winter but the days still generally warm up to around 17 °C (63 °F). During summer, a majority of the days features some rainfall, and daytime temperatures rise to 26 °C (79 °F). A great majority of the year's rainfall occurs from June to October.
