Starting at Ruili, a historic border town in Yunnan, the route crosses some of China’s most culturally and geographically diverse regions, including Yunnan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, and Xinjiang, before exiting China at Khorgas (Horgos).

Designed for experienced self-driving travelers, this journey blends ancient civilizations, ethnic minority cultures, desert landscapes, alpine lakes, and vast grasslands.
