Morning | Guilin to Longji Rice Terraces
In the morning, your driver and English-speaking guide will pick you up from your hotel in Guilin at the appointed time. After all group members are assembled, depart for the Longji Rice Terraces, located about 80 km away. The drive takes approximately 1.5 hours, winding through scenic mountain roads.
Along the way, enjoy views of rolling hills, river valleys, rural farmland, and traditional villages. The constantly changing scenery offers a wonderful introduction to Guangxi’s countryside and provides excellent photo opportunities.
Midday | Ping’an Zhuang Village & Rice Terraces Hiking
Arrive at the entrance of Ping’an Zhuang Village, one of the most famous sections of the Longji Rice Terraces. From here, begin a moderate uphill walk of about 40 minutes, passing through village paths and terraced fields.
As you ascend, you will see tier upon tier of rice paddies surrounding the village, their elegant curves flowing like waves across the mountainside. This ingenious farming system not only maximizes land use but also creates one of China’s most iconic landscapes.
Reach a higher viewpoint on the hillside, where a panoramic view of the Dragon Backbone Rice Terraces unfolds before you. Depending on the season, the terraces may appear as:
-
Mirror-like pools during spring irrigation
-
Lush green waves in summer
-
Golden layers during autumn harvest
-
Soft, misty contours after rain or fog
Enjoy time for photography and appreciation of this magnificent scenery.
After the walk and sightseeing, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, offering simple regional dishes and a chance to rest before returning.
Afternoon | Return to Guilin
In the afternoon, drive back to Guilin city, enjoying the final views of the countryside along the way. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
Service ends, leaving you with unforgettable impressions of China’s most famous rice terraces.
