Jiuzhaigou National Park to partially open during National Day Holiday
Located in southwest China’s Sichuan Province, Jiuzhaigou National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was hit by a magnitude-7.0 earthquake in August, 2017 and was further damaged by flooding last summer, had been temporarily closed since July, 2018 for renovation.After nearly a year of restoration, the park has gradually regained its original beauty and is expected to open parts of its tourist spots to the public during the country’s National Day holiday this year, according to the park’s management.The park, now still being restored, will be more attractive after two years of restoration and innovation, according to the park’s management, adding that more cultural events will be held in the resort. Jiuzhaigou National Park is renowned for its natural scenery that cover the landscapes of numerous lakes, waterfalls, and limestone terraces, with their attractive, clear, mineral-rich waters, which forms into a highly diverse forest ecosystem and demonstrates remarkable natural beauty.
