Hunan Transportation

Hunan, referred to as "Xiang", is a provincial-level administrative region of the People's Republic of China. Changsha, the capital of Hunan, is located in central China, between 24°38′-30°08′ north latitude and 108°47′-114°15′ east longitude. It borders Jiangxi in the east, Chongqing and Guizhou in the west, and GuangdongGuangxi in the south and Hubei in the north. Hunan has a total area of ​​21.18 million square kilometers.

By Air

By the end of 2018, Hunan has 5 domestic airports, including Changsha Huanghua International Airport, Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport, Changde Taohuayuan Airport, Yongzhou Lingling Airport, Huaihua Zhijiang Airport, Hengyang Nanyue Airport and Shaoyang Wugang Airport. Changsha Huanghua International Airport is a national first-level airport with 24.2 kilometers east to the center of Changsha City. It is the largest and best-equipped in Hunan Province. At present, there are non-stop flights to over 50 cities including   BeijingShanghaiGuangzhouXianShenzhenKunmingChongqing  and Hong Kong, and also some international flights to Southeast Asia. Changsha is embracing the world at a fast pace. According to the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Changsha launched 8 international passenger and cargo flights this year. As of November, the Changsha Huanghua International Airport served 282 flights, including 46 international and regional ones. 

By Train

The railway transportation of Hunan is relatively developed. Theere are 7 major trunk lines, including Beijing-Guangzhou Line, Shanghai-Kunming Line, Hunan-Guangxi Line, Shimen-Changsha, Luoyang-Zhanjiang Line, Jiaozuo-Liuzhou Line, Chongqing-Huaihua Line, and some branch lines including Liling-Chaling Railway, Wayuan-Songbai Railway, Shaoshan Railway, Ji'an-Hengyang Railway, Loudi-Shaoyang Railway, Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan interurban railways. What's more, Beijing-Guangzhou High-speed Railway, Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway and several new railway projects are under construction. At the scheduled time, the railway transportation of Hunan will be further convenient.

By Ship

At present, Changsha is the only city you can get around the downtown by metro. Changsha Rail Transit is a rail transit system serving Changsha City. The lines operated by Changsha are Metro Line 1, Changsha Metro Line 2 and Changsha Maglev Express Line. Changsha Metro Line 2 was operated on April 29, 2014. Changsha Maglev Express Line was operated on May 6, 2016. This line is the first medium and low speed maglev railway in China with completely independent intellectual property rights. Changsha Metro Line 1 was operated on June 28, 2016.
