Located in the southern part of the country, Guangxi is bordered by Yunnan to the west, Guizhou to the north, Hunan to the northeast, and Guangdong to the east and southeast. It is also bordered by Vietnam in the southwest and the Beibu Gulf in the south. Guangxi is home to a number of ethnic groups, who have created rich and varied folk dishes. Guangxi, which borders Guangdong, is inhabited by a great number of Guangdong people. Hence, Cantonese Cuisine has played great influence on the local cuisine of Guangxi. Cuisine of the North Guangxi

When you come to the North Guangxi, namely, Guilin and Liuzhou, the cuisine here is generally heavy in taste, thick in color, good at stewing and  fond of being spicy, such as Lipu Steamed Pork(荔浦扣肉).

Cuisine of the Southeast Guangxi

When you plan to travel in the southeast Guangxi, namely, Nanning, Wuzhou and Yulin, the cuisine is regarded as the rich and colorful dining picture for your Guangxi Travel. The dining here pays much attention to the freshness and tenderness of food, such as Fenjiao or  Dumplings(粉饺), Ba Zhen Fen (Eight Treasures Rice Noodles)(八珍粉).

Cuisine of the West Guangxi

The cuisine of the west Guangxi is characterized by a strong national flavor, which will give you unique experience. The dining is a good combination of various flavors, which is made by ordinary materials. The taste of the dishes is slightly spicy, delicately fragrant, tender and crisp.

Cuisine of the Coastal Guangxi

Guangxi faces the Beibu Gulf and has a long coastline. Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang have unique geographical advantages. The Beibu Gulf is a famous seafood producing area in the country, which is best known for its blue crab, snail and squid. In the night markets of Nanning, Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang, the barbecue stalls filled with all kinds of seafood are common, which is dizzying. It comprises the local cuisine of Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang. It puts emphasis on the flavor and color of the dish, and is good at cooking seafood. 

Cuisine of the Ethnic Minority

In addition to the Han nationality, there are 11 ethnic minorities in Guangxi, namely: Zhuang, Yao, Miao, Dong, Mulao, Maonan, Jing, Shui, Yi and Gelao. Every ethnic group has its own unique dining. When you come to Guangxi, you can taste the different dishes of every ethnic group.
