Zhouzu Cemetery Scenic Area

Located in Dongshan, Qingcheng County, Gansu Province, it is named after the famous Tomb of Zhou Xianzu buzhu. According to the historical records, after losing the officials, he moved to the West and settled in Qingyang, creating a Chinese civilized farming culture in Qingyang, east of Gansu Province. Because of his outstanding achievements, people buried him in this mountain after his death.

Why is it called zhouzu cemetery?

According to the historical records, after losing the officials, he moved to the West and settled in Qingyang, creating a Chinese civilized farming culture in Qingyang, east of Gansu Province. Because of his outstanding achievements, people buried him in this mountain after his death.

Layout of zhouzu cemetery

From the Fengcheng bridge to the foot of zhouzuling mountain, you can reach the parking lot through dense forest belt and winding simple road. The buildings above the parking lot are connected by 822 stone steps. Zhouzu cultural area at the top of the mountain, with strict and standard overall layout, is well arranged.

The first is Zhaozhou Shengzu archway. On the front, there are four strong characters written by General Yang Chengwu, “Zhaozhou Shengzu”. On both sides of the characters, there are two pairs of couplets engraved on four pillars. On the back of the archway are four characters of “Zhong Ling Yu Xiu”.

Through the archway, the front is the zhouzu hall, which is built on the platform. In the front of the hall, there are three statues of BuZhu, the ancestor of Zhou, his son Jutao, and his  groundson Gongliu. They are 2.8m high, the statues are lifelike. 

Bagua Pavilion is located in the southeast of zhouzu hall. There are 38 statues of Kings of Zhou Dynasty.They are elegant in design and lifelike in image. On the east side of the Eight Diagrams Pavilion is the corridor,To the west is the wind Pavilion, which is the place to watch and see the scenery.
