Why is Yunshuiyao Village So Special?

Yunshuiyao Village is an ancient village with a long history. In the villiage, on the bank of the river, there are 13 banyan trees with a history of more than one hundred years and some of them are even more than one thousand years. Visitors can also find the Tulou built at the mid Yuan Dynasty.

By Bus: There are two buses from Xiamen to Yunshuiyao villiage in Nanjing every day. They depart from Hubin South Bus Station in Xiamen at 7:10 a.m. or 12:10 p.m. and arrive at Yunshuiyao villiage at about 10:45 a.m. or 15:50 p.m

Main Attractions in Yunshuiyao Village

Hegui Tulou 

Heguilou  is a buildings in this town, it was built by over 200 hundred wooden sticks and standing there over hundreds of years. It’s called the wonder of the world built on the swamp. Built in the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of 1547 square meters, it is the highest Tulou  in Nanjing.

Huaiyuan Tulou

Huaiyuan Tulou is the most exquisite and well protected Tulou. Huaiyuan Tulou is a traditional residential building of the Han nationality, built in 1905-1909. It covers an area of 1384.7 square meters, with 4 floors, 34 rooms on each floor, a total of 136 rooms in the building.

Banyan Trees

In the village, there are 13 banyan trees with a history of one hundred years and some of them even more than one thousand years. One of them has a crown covering an area of 1933 square meters, with a length of more than 30 meters. It takes more than 10 adults to hold the bottom of the trunk.

Useful Travel Tips

  1. People under 6 and over 70 are free for charge.
  2. In summer, there are more mosquitoes there, so protect yourself from them.
