World’s Leading Tourism Fair to be Held from March 6 in Berlin

Last year in March, the Internationale Tourismus-Börse ( ITB) Berlin saw about 110,000 trade visitors from Germany and abroad, including 190 countries and regions of exhibitors.

Those exhibiting at the convention include travel associations, hotels, airlines, MICE, travel agencies, and travel technologies, among others.

This year from March 6 to 10, the fair is expected to embrace more participants, opportunities, and successful trades. Numerous influential figures will be present at the opening ceremony of ITB Berlin, including German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier.
The 2018 ITB Fair draws participants from 190 countries and regions. The top three types of travel from last year’s fair were leisure and recreational trips, adventures, and cultural travel.
Two segments are worthy of our attention this year, besides the conventional programs: the Medical Tourism Pavilion and the VR Lab.

ITB will be giving the booming medical tourism market a bigger platform this year. The sector is currently worth about 100 billion U.S. dollars around the world and is expected to grow by 25 percent each year.

The new ITB Virtual Reality Lab in hall 10.2 will hold six talks this year that let you learn about the latest tech and have you experience them yourself.

In 2018, 83 percent of the exhibiting companies consider their participation and trade “successful.” We look forward to more fascinating programs at the fair, including but not limited to cool tech such as new e-payment methods and travel programs developed by companies or local government.
