Day 1 Beijing Arrival

Sightseeing and Activities: Arrive in Beijing
Accommodation: Beijing

Welcome to the capital of China – Beijing! Upon arrival, met by tour guide and transferred to you hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.

Day 2 Beijing

Sightseeing and Activities: Temple of Heaven, Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City
Accommodation: Beijing
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Tiananmen Square in Beijing

Breakfast at hotel, start today’s tour with Tian’anmen Square. Go north through the square and you will reach the Forbidden City. As the largest and best-preserved ancient wooden structure in the world, it has more than 8,000 pavilions and thousands of historic treasures. Then enjoy the lunch.

In the afternoon, head to visit the royal altar of the Ming and Qing dynasties – the Temple of Heaven.

Day 3 Beijing

Sightseeing and Activities: Mutianyu Great Wall, Bird’s Nest, Water Cube, Hutong Tour
Accommodation: Beijing

In the morning we will take a rickshaw to visit Beijing hutong alleys, narrow but original.

After that, head to visit Mutianyu Great Wall. Great Wall is one of the greatest architecture projects in human history.

On the way back to hotel, stop to visit the exterior of Bird’s Nest and Water Cube.

Day 4 Beijing – Jinan

Sightseeing and Activities: Summer Palace
Accommodation: Jinan
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Visit the Summer Palace in the morning, which used to be the summer resort for royal families and emperors.

Then transferred to Beijing South Railway Station to take the high speed train to Jinan (about 2 hours). A local tour guide will pick you up at train station and transfer to your hotel.

Day 5 Jinan – Taian – Qufu

Sightseeing and Activities: Mount Tai, Dai Temple

In the morning, drive to visit Mount Tai and Dai Temple. Mount Tai is the foremost of the five Great Mountains of China and was listed as the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. Dai Temple, located at the foot of Mount Tai and first built during the Qin Dynasty, is the largest and most complete ancient building complex in the area with five major halls and many small buildings.

After that, go down the mountain and then transferred to Qufu for overnight.

Day 6 Qufu – Jinan

Sightseeing and Activities: Confucian temples, Confucian Mansion, the Confucian Cemetery
Accommodation: Jinan

Today we will experience the Confucian culture. The three most famous cultural sites of the city is collectively known as “San Kong”: Confucian Temple, the Confucian Mansion, the Confucian Cemetery, which have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994.

After the tour, transferred to Jinan for overnight.

Day 7 Jinan – Zhengzhou

Sightseeing and Activities: Yellow River Scenery Area, Shangcheng Relics

Yellow River Scenic Area in Zhengzhou

After breakfast, be escorted to the airport for the flight to Zhengzhou. Upon arrival, met by the tour guide and start the tour with Yellow River Scenic Area, 20 kilometers away the northwest of Zhengzhou City. It is a section of hills along the Yellow River covered with bushes, trees and a large paved plaza.

After that, move on to visit the Relics of Shang Dynasty, which is most famous for the mysterious pictographs and colorful bronzes.

Day 8 Zhengzhou – Anyang – Zhengzhou

Sightseeing and Activities: Yin Ruins, Yuefei Temple

After breakfast, drive about 3 hours to Anyang and visit Yin Ruins first. Yin Ruins, representing the last capital of China’s Shang dynasty, is now one of China’s oldest and largest archaeological sites and has been selected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also the source of the archaeological discovery of oracle bones and oracle bone script, resulting in the identification of the earliest known Chinese writing.

The next stop is Yuefei Temple, built in honour of Yue Fei, a general of the Southern Song dynasty, who devote himself to the country.

After the tour, drive back to Zhengzhou.

Day 9 Zhengzhou – Luoyang

Sightseeing and Activities: Shaolin Temple, Pagoda Forest, White Horse Temple

After breakfast, drive to visit the famous Shaolin Temple. With a history of more than 1500 years, it is reputed as the Head Temple of all Zen Buddhist temples in China. And in the year of 2010, it was listed as the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.

Then move on to Pagoda Forest to see hundreds of stone pagodas and graveyard for the monks through the ages.

Then transferred to Luoyang and visit White Horse Temple, the first Buddhist temple in China and renowned as the cradle of Chinese Buddhism. It was established in 68 AD under the patronage of Emperor Ming in the capital Luoyang of Eastern Han dynasty.

Day 10 Luoyang – Xian

Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang

In the morning, drive to visit the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site – Longmen Grottoes. Located on both sides of the Yi River to the south of the ancient capital of Luoyang, it comprises more than 2,300 caves and niches carved into the steep limestone cliffs over 1km long stretch.

After lunch, be transferred to railway station to take train to Xian. A local tour guide will pick you up at train station and transfer to your hotel.

Day 11 Xian

Sightseeing and Activities: Terracotta Warriors, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Ancient City Wall

Terracotta Army, Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, Xian

After breakfast, we will first visit the world famous Terracotta Warriors. The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China.

After that, visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda. The last stop is the City Wall. Visitors can rent a bicycle and take a ride on the wall.

Day 12 Xian – Shanghai

Sightseeing and Activities: Shaanxi Provincial History Museum

In the morning, visit Shaanxi Provincial History Museum, one of the first huge state museums with modern facilities in China and one of the largest with the large storage of cultural relics from the Shang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty.

After that, be transferred to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. A local tour guide will pick you up at airport and transfer to your hotel.

Day 13 Shanghai

Sightseeing and Activities: Nanjing Road, the Bund, Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple

Today visit the bund and Nanjing Road. Located along the Huangpu River, the bund is a famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai. Nanjing Road is the first choice for many fashion-seeking shoppers.

After that, continue the tour to Yuyuan Garden, a famous classical garden located in Anren Jie, Shanghai. The last stop is Jade Buddha Temple, which is a venerable and famous Buddhist temple built in 1928.

Day 14 Shanghai

Sightseeing and Activities: Shanghai Museum, Oriental Pearl Tower, French concession region
Accommodation: Shanghai

Today’s tour will start with Shanghai Museum. It is the Museum of Ancient Chinese Art with more than 120,000 precious and rare works of art.

Then move on to Oriental Pearl TV Tower. The ultra-modern Oriental Pearl TV Tower combines ancient concepts with 21st Century technology, where you can get a bird-eye-view of whole Shanghai city.

The last stop is Shanghai French Concession, which was once designated for the French. The tree-lined avenues and their many Tudor mansions in the area still retain an air of the “Paris of the East”.

Day 15 Shanghai Departure
