Sanya Yalong Bay Golf Club

Sanya Yalong Bay Golf Club(三亚亚龙湾高尔夫球会) was named one of the Top 100 Golf Courses in Asia at the second “Asia Top 100 Golf Courses” awards ceremony, which was held in the magnificent South Cape Owners Club on May 3rd, 2018.

Yalong bay golf club invested by China Everbright Group. American master-designer, Robert Trent Jones, with world class reputation, said his course concept for the initial 18 holes at Yalong Bay Golf Club was designed to create a links land championship resort course. He expected that Yalong Bay Golf Club can be a preferred golf destination for amateur and professional golf tournaments as well as corporate golf and society golf.

Jointly organized by Golf Travel China and Golf Travel Korea, the selection is held every two years. At the last event two years ago, judgment criteria were known to be stringent and the results were widely accepted by golf enthusiasts.

Yalong Bay Golf Club was nominated again this year, facing competition from all over Asia, mainly, China, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore. The judges were mainly from Taiwan and Hong Kong, and judged based on the following aspects: swing value, memorability, fairness, aesthetics, course maintenance, facilities, and services.

Out of 4,500 Golf courses in Asia, Yalong Bay Golf Course attained outstanding results and emerged as one of the Top 100 Golf courses in Asia. The nominated clubs were mainly in 16 different countries and districts. Of the courses chosen, 26 are based in Japan, 22 in China, and 16 in Korea.

Yalong Bay Golf Club is a masterpiece created by the eminent course designer Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

The par-72, 7,189-yard course has matured into one of China’s must-play golf courses. The course is notable for its treacherous bunker layout and water hazards that snake through the course.

Yalong Bay Golf Club has hosted a number of professional tournaments, including the Sanya Open in 2003, 2004, and 2006; the Volkswagen China Masters in 2006; the TCL Classic in 2005, 2006, and 2007; and the Sanya Ladies Open from 2010 to 2017.
