Haibao Pagoda 

Haibao Pagoda is in 1.5 km northwest of downtown Yinchuan, since it is in the northern suburb of the City, it is also called ‘North Pagoda’, the Haibao Pagoda erects in its place for over 1500 years. The Haibao Pagoda Temple is a Buddhist temple located in Xingqing District of Yinchuan, Ningxia, China.

History of Haibao Pagoda 

The temple was first constructed in the early 5th century, during the Northern and Southern dynasties (420–581). In March 1961, it is listed among the “Major National Historical and Cultural Sites in Ningxia” by the State Council of China.In 1983, the temple was categorized as a National Key Buddhist Temple in Han Chinese Area by the State Council of China.

Main Attraction of Haibao Pagoda 

The entire complex faces the west and has an exquisite layout in the order of the Hall of Shanmen, Hall of Four Heavenly Kings, Mahavira Hall, Hall of Skanda and Hall of Jade Buddha.

Haibao Temple

Haibao Pagoda is the main architecture of Haibaota Temple, as well as the main place to hold large-scale buddhism activity. With a history of more than 1500 years, the Haibao Temple is under national protection and is one of the numerable Buddhist temples opened to the public. Haibao Pagoda is a pavilion-style pagoda, with nine tiers and eleven flights of stairs. The rectangular pagoda is made of bricks, 53.9 meters (about 177 feet) high. It has a square base, 5.7 meters (about 18 feet) in height and 19.7 meters (about 65 feet) in length. The top of this pagoda offers a great view of Yinchuan. It is possible to see the Yellow River away to the east, while to the west the majesty of Helan Moutain can be enjoyed.
