The Woodcraft Workshop is located at the entrance of Mingchan Alley (鸣蝉巷), next to the Bamboo Weaving Workshop and across from Ouyang Calligraphy & Painting Studio (欧阳书画社). It serves as the first stop of the non-heritage handicraft street.
The space is built in a traditional wooden structure, featuring mortise-and-tenon joinery, large wooden tables, and skylight windows. The air is filled with natural wood fragrance, mixed with the sound of chiseling and sanding, creating a strong immersive artisan atmosphere that is highly photogenic.
Space & Environment
Traditional Wooden Workshop Structure
The workshop is constructed mainly from timber, emphasizing traditional Chinese mortise-and-tenon architecture. The space is open, simple, and naturally lit, reflecting a rustic craftsmanship aesthetic.
Tool Wall Display
A full wall displays traditional woodworking tools such as axes, chisels, planes, saws, ink markers, rulers, and sanding tools. The visual impact is strong and creates a vivid “heritage craft workshop” feeling.
Materials & Finished Products
A selection of wood materials is available, including pine, beech, and black walnut. The display shelves feature handmade items such as wooden combs, spoons, bracelets, keychains, and mini wooden swords—each piece unique due to natural wood grain.
