5 Day Zhangjiajie Group Tour: Avatar Mountains, Glass Bridge & Fenghuang Ancient Town

After breakfast, begin exploring Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (张家界国家森林公园).

First, take the cable car to Huangshizhai Scenic Area (黄石寨), one of the park’s most famous panoramic viewpoints. From the summit, admire endless sandstone peaks, cloud-covered mountains, and dramatic natural landscapes stretching across the horizon.

Continue to the peaceful Golden Whip Stream (金鞭溪), a beautiful canyon trail surrounded by cliffs, forests, streams, and unique rock formations. The gentle walking route provides a relaxing nature experience beneath the towering mountains.

In the afternoon, head to the famous Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge (张家界大峡谷玻璃桥). Suspended high above the canyon, the transparent glass bridge offers breathtaking views of waterfalls, cliffs, forests, and deep valleys below.

Return to your hotel in Wulingyuan after sightseeing.

Today’s journey features the most iconic mountain landscapes in Zhangjiajie.

Ride the famous Bailong Elevator (百龙天梯) to the spectacular Yuanjiajie Scenic Area (袁家界), home to the famous “Avatar Hallelujah Mountains.” Here you can admire towering sandstone pillars, dramatic cliffs, and famous viewpoints including the “First Bridge Under Heaven.”

Continue to Tianzi Mountain (天子山), renowned for its sea of peaks, cloud scenery, and breathtaking panoramic viewing platforms. The cable car ride offers magnificent aerial views across the forest-covered mountains and deep valleys.

Later, explore the scenic Ten-mile Gallery (十里画廊) by sightseeing train. Along the route, admire peaceful valleys, unusual rock formations, and lush mountain landscapes.

After sightseeing, transfer to downtown Zhangjiajie for overnight stay.

After breakfast, visit the famous Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park (天门山国家森林公园).

Ride one of the world’s longest mountain cable cars while enjoying panoramic views of cliffs, forests, and the winding “99-Bend Road to Heaven.” Explore the thrilling glass skywalks built along the mountain cliffs and visit the famous Tianmen Cave (天门洞), also known as Heaven’s Gate.

After completing the Tianmen Mountain tour, continue by vehicle to the beautiful Furong Ancient Town (芙蓉镇), a historic riverside town famous for its spectacular waterfall flowing through the center of the old town. Included shuttle buses and boat rides allow you to explore the scenic area more comfortably.

Later, continue to the romantic Fenghuang Ancient Town (凤凰古城), one of China’s most beautiful ancient towns. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing Tuojiang River Night Cruise (沱江泛舟夜游) while admiring traditional stilt houses, glowing lanterns, ancient bridges, and the magical night scenery reflected on the river.

Fenghuang is famous for its Miao and Tujia ethnic culture, ancient bridges, riverside scenery, and traditional architecture preserved for centuries.

After sightseeing, transfer to Fenghuang Ancient Town High-Speed Railway Station (凤凰古城高铁站) or return transfer to Zhangjiajie airport/train station according to your departure schedule.
