    2

Huixian (辉县) → Shanglajiang Cliff Road (上腊江挂壁公路) → Taihang No.1 Road (太行第一路) → Fenghuang Ancient Village (凤凰古寨) → Qiwangzhai Cliff Road (齐王寨挂壁公路) → Chenjiayuan Cliff Road (陈家园挂壁公路) → Guoliang Cliff Road (郭亮挂壁公路) → Guoliang Village (郭亮村)

Begin the day with breakfast at your hotel in Huixian (辉县). After gathering, the convoy sets off together, heading deep into the Taihang Mountains (太行山脉) to start an immersive cliff-hanging road adventure under the fresh spring morning light.

Your first drive takes you along the scenic Shanglajiang Cliff-Hanging Road (上腊江挂壁公路), covering approximately 26 km. In spring, the route is surrounded by blooming mountain flowers, especially golden forsythia, contrasting beautifully with the red sandstone cliffs. The road is narrow and winding, requiring careful driving, but rewards you with untouched natural scenery that feels like a hidden paradise. After the drive, make a short stop at Shanglajiang Village (上腊江村) to explore its traditional stone houses and enjoy the crisp mountain air.

Continue toward the thrilling Taihang No.1 Road (太行第一路), also known as the “Taihang 18 Bends.” Located within the Xiangmuhe Natural Scenic Area (香木河自然景区), this iconic mountain road climbs steeply with sharp S-curves, reaching a vertical height difference of about 200 meters. Surrounded by lush greenery and seasonal blossoms, it offers both a visual feast and a driving challenge—often described as “power on the ascent, courage on the descent.”

Next, visit Fenghuang Ancient Village (凤凰古寨), a traditional settlement built along the mountainside. In spring, peach blossoms bloom around the village, creating a stunning contrast with the ancient stone architecture. Stroll through the village, explore historical remnants, and capture the tranquil charm of Taihang rural life.

Afterward, enjoy a local lunch featuring authentic Taihang farmhouse dishes, including wild vegetables and stone-ground tofu, providing a perfect energy boost for the afternoon journey.

In the afternoon, drive through the picturesque Qiwangzhai Cliff-Hanging Road (齐王寨挂壁公路). This route combines the elegance of Guoliang’s red cliffs, the narrow intensity of Kunshan roads, and the scenic beauty of Chenjiayuan’s water reflections. The springtime canyon is rich in fresh air and greenery, with streams flowing alongside dramatic rock formations. After crossing, explore Qiwangzhai Ancient Village (齐王寨古村), where legends say a king once lived in seclusion—adding a layer of historical intrigue to the peaceful setting.

Continue to the scenic Chenjiayuan Cliff-Hanging Road (陈家园挂壁公路) (or view externally if under maintenance). This route runs alongside Chenjiayuan Reservoir (陈家园水库), offering a stunning contrast between towering red cliffs and tranquil green waters. In spring, reflections of blooming flowers shimmer across the lake surface, creating a picturesque landscape. The tunnel’s “sky windows” allow shifting light and shadow to play across the الطريق, adding a sense of mystery to the drive. Stop at designated viewpoints to fully appreciate the scenery.

Later, experience the legendary Guoliang Cliff-Hanging Road (郭亮挂壁公路), also known as the “Cliff Corridor.” Hand-carved by villagers, this 1.2 km tunnel features 35 window openings that let sunlight stream through, illuminating the red rock walls with dramatic light and shadow effects. As you pass through, take time to admire the surrounding cliffs and blooming mountain landscapes—this is one of the most iconic driving experiences in the Taihang Mountains.

Arrive in Guoliang Village (郭亮村) by late afternoon.

Enjoy dinner in the village, sampling authentic local cuisine that highlights the natural flavors of mountain ingredients.

Accommodation: Stay overnight in a Guoliang Village (郭亮村) homestay, often converted from traditional cliffside stone houses. With windows opening to mountain views, this stay offers an immersive Taihang lifestyle experience. On clear spring nights, you may even enjoy a sky full of stars.

Travel Tips: This day involves multiple cliff roads with complex driving conditions, including narrow lanes, steep slopes, and sharp turns. Drive slowly, use your horn on blind corners, and exercise caution when passing other vehicles. Occasional falling rocks may occur in mountainous areas during spring—avoid prolonged توقف in exposed مناطق and always follow safety guidance.

    3

Guoliang Village (郭亮村) → Kunshan Cliff Road (昆山挂壁公路) → Xiyagou Cliff Road (锡崖沟挂壁公路) → Yunfeng Gallery (云峰画廊) → Huilong Cliff Road (回龙挂壁公路) → Lingchuan (陵川)

Start the day in Guoliang Village (郭亮村) with a local homestay breakfast. After the meal, enjoy a short exploration of this iconic cliffside village, known as the “Pearl of the Taihang Mountains.” Visit filming locations from the movie Hands Up (举起手来) and stop by the Cliffside Viewing Platform (崖上人家观景台), where you can take in sweeping views of red sandstone cliffs and blooming mountain flowers in spring.

Continue with a self-driving journey along the spectacular Kunshan Cliff-Hanging Road (昆山挂壁公路), the longest cliff road in the Southern Taihang region. Stretching 7.5 km along a vertical cliff face, this narrow one-way road features sharp 90-degree turns and steep gradients. The raw, unpolished tunnel walls and misty spring atmosphere create a dramatic driving experience, as if navigating through clouds. Along the way, admire breathtaking views of cliffside landscapes, drifting clouds, and seasonal blossoms.

Next, drive through the historic Xiyagou Cliff-Hanging Road (锡崖沟挂壁公路), one of the earliest and most ambitious cliff road projects in the Taihang Mountains. This 7.5 km route winds along steep cliffs in a multi-level zigzag formation. Through the carved “sky windows,” you can overlook the village below and expansive canyon scenery. The contrast between sheer rock walls and deep valleys is striking. This section also tells the story of three generations of villagers who spent decades carving the road by hand—an enduring symbol of the “Taihang Spirit.”

Enjoy a local lunch featuring regional specialties, followed by a short rest before continuing the journey.

In the afternoon, explore the scenic Yunfeng Gallery (云峰画廊), an 8 km circular sightseeing route that winds between green peaks and red cliffs. In spring, the mountains are covered in fresh greenery and dotted with wildflowers. Walk along cliffside plank paths and narrow canyon passages, and experience the thrilling glass walkway suspended above the valley. This panoramic route offers 360-degree views of the Taihang Mountains, often described as a “hundred-mile natural gallery.”

Later, drive along the refined and winding Huilong Cliff-Hanging Road (回龙挂壁公路). This S-shaped route alternates between tunnels and खुला मार्ग, spiraling upward toward Qingfeng Pass. Along the way, enjoy views of rugged cliffs, flowing streams, and lush spring scenery. After passing through, take time to explore Huilong Village (回龙村) and learn about the inspiring story of local residents who built the road to improve their lives.

In the late afternoon, drive to Lingchuan County (陵川县), enjoying peaceful rural landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax.

End the day with a local dinner, sampling traditional cuisine from southeastern Shanxi, known for its hearty flavors and mountain ingredients.

Accommodation: Hotel in Lingchuan County (陵川县), offering comfortable facilities, convenient transportation, and easy access to supplies for the next day.

Travel Tips: The Kunshan Cliff Road has specific traffic time regulations (one-way access depending on time of day), so be sure to follow local rules. When visiting Yunfeng Gallery, take care on the glass walkway and cliff paths. This is a full day with extended driving, so pace yourself and prioritize safety throughout the journey.

    4

Lingchuan (陵川) → Yuxia Pass (玉峡关) → Huahu Scenic Road (花壶公路) → Shenlongwan Viewpoint (神龙湾观景台) → Zhangjiawa (张家凹) → Shibanyan (石板岩) → Linzhou (林州)

Start the day with breakfast at your hotel in Lingchuan (陵川). After gathering, the convoy departs together toward the historic Yuxia Pass (玉峡关), marking the beginning of another scenic journey through the Taihang Mountains (太行山脉).

Drive from Lingchuan to Yuxia Pass, enjoying panoramic spring landscapes along the way. Yuxia Pass (玉峡关) is a strategically important ancient mountain pass, once part of the historic Taihang trade routes. In spring, the surrounding hills are covered with blooming wildflowers, creating a vivid contrast with the rugged terrain. Take time to stop, explore, and appreciate both the natural beauty and historical atmosphere.

Continue with a self-driving experience along the popular Huahu Scenic Road (花壶公路), often referred to as an “internet-famous” mountain road. Stretching across the spine of the Taihang range, this route winds through steep peaks and layered ridgelines. In spring, the mountains are lush and vibrant, dotted with colorful blossoms. Highlights include a series of dramatic hairpin turns—perfect for experiencing the thrill of driving along what is often called the “Sky Road of the Taihang Ridge.” Every توقف offers a photo-worthy منظر.

Around midday, enjoy a flexible lunch stop (not included) in one of the local villages or roadside towns. This is a great opportunity to try regional snacks and take a short break before continuing.

In the afternoon, head to the Shenlongwan Viewpoint (神龙湾观景台), one of the best locations to overlook the winding Shenlongwan Cliff Road (神龙湾挂壁公路), also known as the Jingdi Cliff Road (井底挂壁公路). From above, the road appears like a ribbon carved into the cliffs, surrounded by mist, flowers, and a tranquil lake below. Stop here for panoramic photos and enjoy the dramatic scenery of this “road into the clouds.”

Next, drive to Zhangjiawa (张家凹), often called the “Painter’s Village on the Roof of Taihang.” This is one of the highest points accessible by road in the Southern Taihang region. The village is known for its uniform stone houses and artistic atmosphere. In spring, the surrounding peaks are layered with greenery, flowers, and drifting mist, creating a dreamlike landscape. Take time to walk through the village, explore its unique charm, and enjoy sweeping views over the Taihang Mountains.

Later in the afternoon, continue to Shibanyan Town (石板岩镇), passing through scenic canyon landscapes along the way. Built along the mountainside, the town features traditional stone architecture and a peaceful rural atmosphere. In spring, peach and pear blossoms bloom throughout the المنطقة, while streams flow gently through the valley. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and rest.

Enjoy dinner in Shibanyan, featuring local farmhouse cuisine that highlights the flavors of the Taihang region.

Accommodation: Stay overnight in Linzhou City (林州市), in a comfortable hotel conveniently located near the next day’s itinerary and with easy access to supplies.

Travel Tips: Huahu Scenic Road includes multiple sharp turns and steep sections—drive carefully and yield when necessary. Zhangjiawa is at a higher elevation, and temperatures can vary significantly between day and night, so bring a light jacket. For lunch, choose clean and reliable local restaurants to ensure food safety.

    Day

    5

Linzhou (林州) → Xijing Mountain Cliff Road (西井山挂壁公路) → Taihang Skyline Road (太行天路) → Hongtiguan Tunnel (虹梯关隧道) → Hongtiguan Cliff Road Panorama (虹梯关挂壁全景) → Tongtian Gorge (通天峡) → Linzhou (林州)

Start the day with breakfast at your hotel in Linzhou (林州). After gathering, the convoy departs together, setting out for another scenic and adventurous day through the Taihang Mountains (太行山脉).

Begin with a self-driving journey across Xijing Mountain Cliff Road (西井山挂壁公路), a remarkable cliff-hanging road carved by villagers using primitive tools. Known for its winding “nine bends and eighteen turns,” the road twists along steep cliffs. In spring, the mountains are covered in blooming wildflowers, and the chisel marks on the rock walls remain clearly visible, reflecting the resilience and ingenuity of the Taihang people. Driving along this route offers both excitement and immersive views of untouched Taihang natural scenery (太行自然风光).

Continue to the Taihang Skyline Road (太行天路) at Hongtiguan (虹梯关), a spectacular ridge-top road stretching about 45 kilometers with nearly 189 curves. Winding through mountain peaks, forests, and clouds, this route delivers breathtaking panoramic views. In spring, lush greenery and scattered blossoms create a vibrant landscape. As you drive along the ridgeline, you’ll experience the grandeur of a “road into the clouds,” with multiple viewpoints perfect for capturing the full beauty of the Taihang mountain range (太行山脉).

Around midday, enjoy a flexible lunch stop (not included) in a local village or roadside town. This is a great opportunity to taste regional specialties and take a short break before continuing the journey.

In the afternoon, drive through Hongtiguan Tunnel (虹梯关隧道) and arrive at the Hongtiguan Cliff Road Viewpoint (虹梯关挂壁公路观景台). From here, you can admire the full panorama of the Hongtiguan Cliff Road (虹梯关挂壁公路), an extraordinary engineering achievement carved into sheer cliffs by over 800 villagers over many years. The road features multiple tunnels cut into the rock with a vertical drop of around 200 meters. In spring, drifting mist and blooming flowers enhance the dramatic scenery, while the site offers insight into the hardships and determination behind its construction.

Next, head to Tongtian Gorge Scenic Area (通天峡景区), often referred to as the “Northern Jiuzhaigou.” This stunning canyon features towering cliffs, flowing streams, waterfalls, and lush vegetation. In spring, the gorge becomes especially vibrant, with blossoming flowers and cascading water creating a picturesque and almost mythical atmosphere reminiscent of scenes from classic Chinese martial arts stories. Visitors can take a boat ride across clear waters or walk up to a glass viewing platform for sweeping panoramic views, fully immersing themselves in the beauty of nature.

Later in the afternoon, drive back to Linzhou (林州), enjoying the scenic Taihang canyon landscapes (太行峡谷风光) along the way. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and take time to relax.

In the evening, enjoy dinner featuring local specialties from Linzhou (林州), offering an authentic taste of the Taihang region and preparing for the next day’s journey.

Accommodation: Stay overnight in Linzhou (林州), in a comfortable hotel conveniently located for the next day’s itinerary, with easy access to transportation and local supplies.

Travel Tips: Xijing Mountain Cliff Road has rugged sections, including gravel surfaces—drive slowly and carefully, and SUVs are recommended. The Taihang Skyline Road includes many sharp curves, so maintain a safe speed. Tongtian Gorge involves walking and light hiking, so wear comfortable shoes. Spring conditions in the canyon can be humid, making some paths slippery—please proceed with caution.

    Day

    6

Linzhou (林州) → Youth Cave Water Cliff Road (红旗渠青年洞水上挂壁) → Red Flag Canal Exhibition Hall (红旗渠展览馆) → Departure

Start the final day with breakfast at your hotel in Linzhou (林州). After gathering, the convoy departs together for the legendary Red Flag Canal Scenic Area (红旗渠景区), marking the conclusion of this extraordinary journey through the Taihang Mountains (太行山脉).

Begin the morning at the Youth Cave section of the Red Flag Canal (红旗渠青年洞), where you will experience a unique boat ride along the water cliff canal route (水上挂壁). In spring, the Red Flag Canal (红旗渠) resembles a jade ribbon winding through mountains across Shanxi and Henan provinces. Steep cliffs, calm waters, and cascading reflections create a striking landscape. As you glide through the water tunnel sections, you can admire the cliffside scenery and blooming mountain flowers while learning about the engineering miracle known as the “Man-Made Heavenly River.”

This canal was built in the 1960s by the people of Linxian (now Linzhou), who, using only basic tools, carved over 1,500 kilometers of irrigation channels through mountains in ten years. The experience offers a powerful understanding of the Red Flag Canal Spirit (红旗渠精神)—a symbol of resilience, determination, and refusal to surrender to natural hardship.

Continue to the Red Flag Canal Exhibition Hall (红旗渠展览馆), where historical photographs, documents, and artifacts vividly present the construction process of the canal. Through immersive exhibits, visitors gain a deeper understanding of the heroic efforts behind this monumental project and the cultural legacy it represents. This is a meaningful journey into the history of the Taihang people and their collective spirit of perseverance.

Around midday, enjoy a farewell lunch (included) in Linzhou (林州), sampling local cuisine and reflecting on the highlights of the journey through the Taihang landscapes (太行风光).

After lunch, the “Drive the Taihang · Glorious Journey” officially concludes. Guests may continue with independent travel or begin their return journey. Before departure, please check vehicle conditions, refuel, and ensure safe driving practices.

    Travel Tips:
Inside the Red Flag Canal Scenic Area (红旗渠景区), please follow all safety instructions. When taking the boat ride, listen carefully to staff guidance and prioritize safety. During return travel, plan adequate rest stops to avoid fatigue. Spring weather may include occasional rain, so road conditions should be monitored, and cautious driving is advised.

Unforgettable and Memorable Trip to Fujian

We wanted to do a 7-day trip to Zhangzhou, Yongding, Quanzhou and Xiamen. We enquired with Yaso who assigned a very responsive travel consultant, Emma who helped us craft our itinerary. We visited the Hakka T(ulou Earthen Buildings), and even stayed overnight in one of the hillside villages nearby. It truly helped us immerse in the culture and ambience of the area. We also visited the buzzing fishery ports and live seafood markets of Quanzhou and Xiamen, and tasted the very diversified, freshest and most delicious seafood of the two cities. We also visited unique seaside villages like Xunpu, architecturally and historically unique ancient villages like Wulin and Chongwu, not forgetting the beautiful island escape, Gulangyu. We were assigned a very friendly and knowledgeable guide Adam, who is sensitive to our needs and preferences and often go out of his way to create a truly wonderful experience throughout the trip, one that showed us the culture, history, daily lives and cuisine of the area beyond the surface. We were also given a clean and comfortable car to travel around, and Mr Chen, the driver is safe and reliable. Emma was also always on hand and responsive to address any little hiccups along the way, and make our trip safe comfortable, smooth and very enjoyable. A big thank you to Adam, Emma and Mr Chen. I highly recommend Yaso, and will certainly consider them for future travel in China.

    A mazing time in yunnan

Just finished a six-day trip to Kunming, Jianshui and Yuanyang. Here are some things I want to share. The schedule was really well planned. We didn’t feel rushed or tired at all, and we had plenty of time to sightsee and relax every day. All the meals were halal, and we tried Jianshui grilled tofu, which was really unique and tasty. I usually get carsick before, but the vehicle was spacious and the driver’s skill was good, so I felt fine during the whole trip. Our tour guide was a wonderful, friendly and thoughtful guy, communication was not a problem at all. I’m so glad to have made a new friend in China. Haigeng Dam in Kunming has beautiful scenery, and we even got the chance to feed the migrating seagulls. What I recommend most is the Yuanyang Terraced Fields. It was such a huge surprise for me because I had never seen before! Besides the amazing natural scenery, you can also see the wisdom of the local people in how they make use of the land. If I ever get the chance to visit Yunnan again, definitely will choose here again.

    a wonderful trip memory

As the No.1 Best Seller Yunnan itinerary, the trip is truly worthwhile. First of all, the selection of destinations is very valuable, since Kunming, Lijiang, Dali, and Shangri-La could represent the complex natural landscapes and diverse ethnic cultures in Yunnan Province. Secondly, it is rational to choose high-speed rail as the mode of transport, as we can witness China's rapid development and significantly shorten the time we spend on the road, by the way, as a solo traveler, I could choose to stay in the quiet carriage, which provided me a comfortable place to rest. Then, the tour guide services are worthwhile, which could make our trip have more meaningful engagement, especially in Yunnan, not only the wonderful landscapes but also the ethnic and cultural diversity. What was most impressive about the trip was the Dali discovery. The Three Pagodas was marvelous, and walking along the Erhai Lake S bay could be one of the most leisure time in my life. Xizhou ancient town was also a great place, where we experienced a unique culture of the Bai minority. The tour guide recommended that we try the Bai three-course tea experience, which could be an unforgettable memory. I think it was an essential part to deeply understand the Bai minority’s culture. All in all, this trip was so great that I can’t wait to recommend it to my friends and invite them to have a meaningful trip with me in Yunnan.

We are a party of 8 mosque friends who uses Yaso Trip services for our golfing trip in Kunming,Yunnan from 7-11 Sept 2025.We must say that we are pleased of their services from the time of obtaining quotation until the day we were sent to Kunming International Airport.Credit must be given to Justin whom I dealt with.He was professional in his works and during negotiations of the pricing. The quote he gave was very competitive and we are happy with the price Yaso offered us.We opted for a lower star hotel to save cost but we are happy with Kyriad Hotel provided to us.The tour agent Jane was also hardworking and tried her best to fulfill our needs. The Halal restaurants that she recommended us were also good and the food were tasty. The golf arrangements were also very good and we got the play at the top 3 golf courses that we requested to play. The bus driver was also courteous and skillful. We had a very good time in Kunming and strongly recommend Yaso Trip Travel Agent.

    Great time in Lijiang

Overall, we had a great time in Lijiang. The experience with our tour guide, Xiao Wu, was amazing. We didn't just enjoy ourselves, we also learned a lot about the history of Lijiang and China. She was very knowledgeable. The driver was punctual and helpful and the van was very comfortable too. All places we were brought to were very delicious. They followed our request to go only the Halal restaurants. We really appreciate that all the food was pre-ordered, so it was ready by the time we reached the restaurant. Highly recommend Yaso Trip for everyone!
