Start at Lujiazui Financial District and visit Shanghai Tower, China’s tallest building and one of the highest skyscrapers in the world. Take one of the world’s fastest elevators to the 118th-floor observation deck, located 546 meters above the ground. Enjoy breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of Shanghai’s skyline, including the futuristic buildings of Pudong, the historic Bund, and the winding Huangpu River.

Continue to Shanghai Museum East, one of Shanghai’s most important cultural attractions. Today is a flexible travel day. After breakfast, enjoy free time to further explore Shanghai according to your interests. You may revisit your favorite places, enjoy local cuisine, shop for souvenirs, or relax before continuing your journey.

At the scheduled time, your driver will escort you to the airport for your flight to Zhangjiajie. The flight takes approximately 2.5 hours, connecting the modern city of Shanghai with one of China’s most spectacular natural destinations.

Upon arrival at Zhangjiajie Airport, your local guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in the Wulingyuan District, the gateway to the UNESCO-listed Wulingyuan Scenic Area and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.

The rest of the evening is free to relax and prepare for the upcoming Zhangjiajie adventure.

After breakfast, begin your exciting exploration of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its unique quartz sandstone peaks, deep valleys, and spectacular mountain scenery. Your guide and driver will take you to start today’s adventure among Zhangjiajie’s most iconic landscapes.

First, take a cable car up to Huangshi Village, one of the largest and most famous viewing platforms in Zhangjiajie. Located at an altitude of around 1,080 meters, Huangshi Village offers magnificent panoramic views of countless pillar-shaped mountains, forests, and valleys. Walk along the scenic trails to discover viewpoints such as Star Picking Stand and Five Finger Peak, while enjoying the dramatic scenery often compared with the landscapes of Colorado in the United States.

After exploring Huangshi Village, take a sightseeing bus out of the park and drive about 40 minutes to the spectacular Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. The highlight of this visit is the world-famous Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, an engineering masterpiece suspended high above the canyon. Stretching approximately 430 meters long and about 400 meters above the valley floor, the transparent bridge offers an unforgettable experience of walking above the mountains and clouds.

After crossing the glass bridge, continue into the canyon valley area. Walk through the beautiful forest landscape, visit Rainbow Square, Momo Cave, and Shenquan Lake, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of waterfalls, clear streams, and green mountains. You can choose different valley transportation options according to your preference and physical condition.

After sightseeing, return to your hotel in Wulingyuan for a relaxing evening.

Continue to Yuanjiajie, the legendary inspiration for the floating mountains in the movie Avatar. Experience the famous Bailong Elevator, the world’s highest outdoor glass elevator, which quickly rises from the valley floor to the mountain summit while offering impressive views of cliffs and forests.

Explore Yuanjiajie’s spectacular viewpoints, including South Sky Pillar (Avatar Mountain), Enchanting Platform, and First Bridge Under Heaven. Walk among towering sandstone peaks surrounded by mist and clouds, creating one of China’s most unforgettable natural landscapes.

In the afternoon, continue by sightseeing bus to Tianzi Mountain, known as the “King of Peak Forests.” From He Long Park, admire the incredible scenery of endless sandstone peaks, including the famous Imperial Writing Brush Peaks and other unusual rock formations. Finish the day with a cable car ride down the mountain while enjoying the changing views of Zhangjiajie’s spectacular landscape.

Transfer back to Zhangjiajie city area after the tour.

Start your adventure with the spectacular Tianmen Mountain Cable Car, one of the world’s longest mountain cableways. During the journey from Zhangjiajie downtown to the mountaintop, enjoy breathtaking aerial views of forests, valleys, and the winding Avenue Toward Heaven (Tongtian Avenue) with its famous 99 sharp bends.

Explore the mountain’s scenic routes, including the thrilling Ghost Valley Plank Road, a cliff-hanging walkway built along the mountain edge. Continue to the transparent Tianmen Mountain Glass Skywalk, where you can experience the excitement of walking on glass hundreds of meters above the valley.

Visit Tianmen Temple, a historic Buddhist temple located on the mountaintop, surrounded by forests and spectacular mountain views. Continue to Tianmen Cave, a huge natural opening formed through geological changes and known as the “Gateway to Heaven.”
