Today's highlights: Jiuzhaigou National Park, Shuzheng Valley, Zechawa Valley, Rize Valley, Five-Color Lake, Five Flower Lake, Nuorilang Waterfall
After breakfast at your hotel, begin a full-day exploration of Jiuzhaigou National Park, one of China’s most spectacular natural wonders and a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. Your guide will accompany you to enter the scenic area by sightseeing bus and arrange the best visiting route according to weather conditions, visitor flow, and your walking pace.
Hidden deep in the Minshan Mountains of Sichuan, Jiuzhaigou was once a secluded homeland of nine Tibetan villages and remained unknown to the outside world until its discovery in the 20th century. Today, it is celebrated worldwide for its breathtaking alpine scenery, crystal-clear lakes, colorful forests, snow-covered mountains, and spectacular waterfalls.
The park features three main valleys — Rize Valley, Zechawa Valley, and Shuzheng Valley — where more than 100 turquoise lakes, numerous waterfalls, streams, and colorful travertine landscapes create a magical natural painting. The lakes display different shades of blue, green, turquoise, and emerald depending on the season, sunlight, and mineral content of the water.
Your sightseeing journey begins with the upper areas of the valley. Visit Long Lake, the largest and highest lake in Jiuzhaigou, surrounded by snow mountains and dense forests. Continue to the breathtaking Five-Color Lake, famous for its incredible layers of blue, green, and turquoise colors created by different mineral compositions beneath the clear water.
Afterward, head to Rize Valley, considered the most beautiful section of Jiuzhaigou. Explore some of its most iconic attractions, including Panda Lake, Five Flower Lake, Pearl Shoal Waterfall, and Mirror Lake. The colorful forests, crystal waters, and reflections of mountains create some of the best photography opportunities in the entire park.
In the afternoon, continue to Nuorilang Waterfall, one of Jiuzhaigou’s most famous landmarks and one of the widest highland waterfalls in China. The powerful water curtain flowing across the valley creates a spectacular scene, especially during the rainy season when the waterfall reaches its most impressive volume.
Later, descend through Shuzheng Valley, where you will discover a series of beautiful lakes and waterfalls, including Shuzheng Lakes, Tiger Lake, Sparkling Lake, and Shuzheng Waterfall. Along the wooden walking paths, enjoy peaceful views of Tibetan villages, forests, rivers, and mountain scenery.
After the full-day adventure, your guide and driver will transfer you back to your hotel for a relaxing evening.
