    Located on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Qinghai Province (青海省) is the fourth-largest province in China. The Plateau, with an average elevation of 3,000 meters, is often called “The Roof of the World” and is the source of three of China’s major rivers: the Yangtze River (长江), Yellow River (黄河), and Mekong River (澜沧江).

    The province features snow-capped mountains, glaciers, deserts, vast grasslands, and numerous lakes, creating a unique and colorful natural landscape. Qinghai Lake (青海湖), the largest inland saline lake in China, is a world-renowned birdwatching destination. Its high-altitude plains host many species that are rarely seen by foreign birders.

    Target Species: Tibetan Rosefinch, Przewalski's Rosefinch, Tibetan Babax, Buff-throated Monal Partridge, Tibetan Bunting, Przewalski’s Partridge, Ala Shan Redstart, Ibisbill, Black-necked Crane, and six species of Snowfinches.
