Morning Hotel Pickup & Banpo Museum Visit
In the morning, your English-speaking guide will pick you up from your downtown Xi’an hotel between approximately 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
Your journey begins with a visit to Banpo Museum (半坡博物馆), one of China’s most important Neolithic archaeological sites. Established in 1957, the museum preserves the remains of a Yangshao culture settlement dating back over 6,000 years.
Inside the museum, you will discover reconstructed scenes of prehistoric village life, including:

Explore the Terracotta Warriors & Horses Museum
In the afternoon, visit the legendary Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum (秦始皇兵马俑博物馆), one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Built for Qin Shi Huang (秦始皇), China’s first emperor, the underground army was constructed over 2,000 years ago using the labor of hundreds of thousands of workers.
Inside the museum complex, you will explore:
- Pit 1 with massive infantry formations
- Pit 2 featuring cavalry and archers
- Pit 3 believed to be the military command center
- Bronze chariots and ancient weapons
- Thousands of life-sized clay soldiers with unique facial expressions and hairstyles
Your guide will explain the historical significance of the Qin Dynasty, the emperor’s mausoleum project, and the incredible archaeological discoveries made at the site.
After the museum visit, enjoy a brief exterior view of Qin Shi Huang’s Mausoleum (秦始皇陵) while driving back toward downtown Xi’an.
Dumpling Dinner & Tang Dynasty Show
In the evening, head to a famous Tang-style theater restaurant for a traditional dumpling banquet dinner.
Xi’an dumplings come in various shapes and fillings, representing one of the city’s most famous culinary traditions.
After dinner, enjoy the spectacular Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show (唐代歌舞表演), one of Xi’an’s signature cultural performances.
The show recreates the elegance and grandeur of the Tang Dynasty through:
- Traditional court music
- Classical Chinese dance
- Colorful imperial costumes
- Ancient musical instruments
- Historical storytelling performances
One highlight of the show tells the story of Empress Wu Zetian (武则天), the only female emperor in Chinese history.
