Meet at your hotel in downtown Wuzhou (梧州) or Wuzhou South Railway Station (梧州南站) and depart for Liubao Town (六堡镇) in Cangwu County (苍梧县). The journey is about 68 km and takes around 70–80 minutes by vehicle.
During the drive, the guide will introduce the history of Liubao Tea (六堡茶), including its status as a national intangible cultural heritage, the ancient Tea Boat Route, traditional production methods, and the famous “red, strong, aged, and mellow” flavor characteristics. The guide will also explain the day’s schedule, tea garden visiting rules, and safety precautions.
09:10–10:10 | Visit Liubao Tea Museum (六堡茶博物馆)
The first stop is Liubao Tea Museum (六堡茶博物馆), where visitors can learn about the origin and development of Liubao Tea through historical exhibitions and cultural displays.
The museum showcases ancient tea transportation routes, traditional tea tools, old tea samples, tea baskets, and historical materials related to the Tea Boat Route. Through the exhibitions, visitors can understand how Liubao Tea was produced in mountain areas and transported through rivers to domestic and overseas markets.
The visit also introduces the traditional production process of Liubao Tea, including spreading, fixation, rolling, fermentation, aging, and drying. A tea education session allows visitors to compare different tea varieties, storage conditions, and aging periods through appearance, aroma, and taste.
10:20–11:50 | Explore Heishishan Tea Factory (黑石山茶厂)
Continue to Heishishan Tea Factory (黑石山茶厂), a representative Liubao Tea production base where visitors can experience traditional tea craftsmanship.
Explore the old workshops, natural aging storage areas, and tea production facilities while learning from tea makers about traditional fermentation techniques and natural storage methods. The tea appreciation experience introduces professional tasting methods, including observing tea color, smelling aroma, and evaluating the taste of fresh and aged Liubao Tea.
With advance reservation, visitors can also participate in a simple handmade tea processing activity, such as tea rolling, to experience traditional tea-making skills.
12:00–13:00 | Liubao Tea-Themed Lunch (六堡茶主题茶宴)
Enjoy a local tea-themed lunch in Liubao Town (六堡镇). The meal combines local ingredients with Liubao Tea culture, featuring specialties such as Liubao Tea Chicken, tea-flavored ribs, tea egg dishes, tea soup tofu, local river fish, and seasonal mountain vegetables.
The menu can be adjusted according to international visitors’ preferences, including lighter flavors and reduced spicy dishes.
13:10–14:40 | Hiking Experience at Baji Ancient Tea Garden (八集古茶园)
Visit Baji Ancient Tea Garden (八集古茶园), a historic tea-growing area featuring traditional tea plantations, old tea trees, and beautiful mountain landscapes.
Walk through the tea fields and learn about the original tea varieties of Liubao from local tea farmers. Visitors can experience traditional tea picking methods and understand how tea leaves are selected according to quality standards.
With advance booking, travelers can participate in hands-on tea picking and have fresh tea leaves processed and packaged as a personal souvenir. The mountain viewpoint also provides excellent opportunities for photography, especially when mist surrounds the terraced tea fields.
14:50–15:30 | Discover Hekou Wharf (合口码头) and the Tea Boat Route (茶船古道)
Visit Hekou Wharf (合口码头), an important historical site connected with the ancient Tea Boat Route.
Standing beside the river, visitors can learn how Liubao Tea was historically transported from mountain tea villages through waterways toward larger markets in China and Southeast Asia. Walk along the riverside path and discover the relationship between tea production, river transportation, and regional trade.

Spend some free time at Liubao Tea Street (六堡茶第一街), where visitors can taste different varieties of Liubao Tea and explore local tea shops.
The area offers tea products including tea cakes, loose tea, and packaged tea souvenirs. The guide can provide suggestions on selecting authentic Liubao Tea and understanding the differences between factory-direct products and general retail products.
16:10–17:20 | Return to Wuzhou (梧州)
After the tour, gather and return to Wuzhou (梧州).
